Cyndi hearing an incoming message opened it and read the report from the science chief regarding the Benamite Crystals. His report indicated how dangerous they were and very unstable. Leaning back in her seat as she read the report. They were too unstable to even risk sending samples back to Star Fleet Science for further study. Quagmire was not a Federation Planet so any further work would have to be put on hold until the planet was a member of the Federation and that could take time. Opening a message to McTavish

“Lieutenant thank you for the report on the Benamite Crystals, I had hoped we could send some samples back to Star Fleet Science for further study. But that’s not possible as they would place any ship in danger. This will have to wait until Quagmire is a member of the Federation, if they would consider joining and I do agree this would take decades. I’ll send a report to Star Fleet Command and include your report.

I just hope everyone concerned understands the dangers of those crystals. I’ll also send a recommendation to headquarters to consider this world for Federation consideration and who knows perhaps one day this will work. I am a little disappointed as I had hoped a way to use those crystals could have worked. Good work lieutenants McTavish's."

After reading her message again Cyndi hit send and her response to James was on the way. She was lucky to have several excellent officer in science with the McTavish’s and Herculoid.
