After vacating the Bridge Green went down to her quarters, reaching back to her lumbar holder for her lightsaber and pulling the hilt free. She placed it on the coffee table opposite side from the couch, then proceeded to her bedroom to dress down into casual attire. Ro came back out to her main room in Starfleet sweat pants and a white T-shirt, the twins free to breath without constraint. Sitting down lotus on the floor next to and facing the coffee table Green closed her eyes and relaxed herself. Control was always tantamount, then Sense, then Alter. Communing with the Core Rogue used it to levitate herself several inches off the floor, opening her eyes as she met the six inch height she had sought, relaxing into her floating position, her legs feeling as if a floor were still beneath them so she didn't have to strain to maintain her lotus. One with the Core.
Raising her right hand as if to swear on the Bible, another saber hilt flew out from underneath some folded blankets on a shelf, which landed perfectly in her hand and she set it next to the other. Using her hands and using Alter as it should be used, Ro took both sabers apart, redesigning their bodies and casings for what she needed from them.
The weapon consisted of a blade of pure plasma emitted from the hilt and suspended in a force containment field. The field contained the immense heat of the plasma, protecting the wielder, and allowed the blade to keep its shape. The hilts were traditionally self-fabricated, as were these two examples.
Due to the weightlessness of plasma and the strong gyroscopic effect generated by it, lightsabers required a great deal of strength and dexterity to wield, and it was extremely difficult-and dangerous-for the untrained to attempt using.
The hilt generates a focused beam of energy that arcs in a circumferential path back to its source, creating a controlled energy circuit and leading to portable high-energy blades. This stems from the power cell. An internal superconductor transfers the returning looped energy from the negative-charged flux aperture back into an internal power cell.
All this passed through her mind as she levitated in place, with the pieces of both sabers and their color crystals floating in patterns before her, not counting every nick-nack in the room was floating and twirling in place. Making sure to set everything back in their places before getting back to her feet, Rogue took up the two sabers with their new hilts. She put the two pommels together, hearing a click as she twisted them in opposite directions and locked them together. Igniting the double-bladed saber, one blade cloud blue, the other crimson, she spun it about and exercised with it for a few minutes. Closing the crimson blade she then wielded the lengthy hilt for just her steadfast blue blade. Having that extra few centimeters in reach could be all the difference. Closing her saber down she then unlocked the hilts and put the red one away in its hiding place. Old Blue, well, it went where she went.
Finishing her personal priorities Green went to her desk and sat down, bringing up the latest strategic operations data from Starfleet.
