As soon as Lieutenant JG Nix Dunjen heard that the Romulan shuttle had touched down, she made her way to the Intelligence Department to grab her number one vest awaiting the call.

Several minutes later Alesha notified her that she was ready. Tapping her Comm "Dunjen here....I'm on my way." Nix hustled to the Main Shuttle Bay knowing that between the Recon and boots on the ground, they were on a serious time crunch to successfully extract the prisoners.

Walking into the Shuttle Bay Nix noticed 1st Lieutenant Rivers waiting next to her fighter as she approached her "Good afternoon Alesha, I guess it's time to get moving" Nix commented with a grin.

Alesha nodded, "It's time, the commodore said to go now while we're stopped. We'll be beamed out and then cloaked. I'll need to cloak before we materialize, we'll head to that moon and get a read on things. Are you ready?"

"I'm as ready as I ever will be" Nix replied as she could sense the nervousness of Dunjen "Steady old friend we'll be just fine" she thought. "If you say so" came the reply. Not wanting to waste any time Nix turned and climbed aboard the Fighter and sat in the second seat waiting for Alesha.

Alesha climbed aboard, handed Nix a helmet as she put her own helmet on, switched the computers to Federation, fired the engines and tapped her ear piece "Transporter room, this is Lieutenant Rivers, lock onto my fighter and beam me into space,"

"Acknowledged," came the reply.

Just as the transporter beam grabbed them, Alesha engaged the cloak so when they materialized in space the fighter was cloaked. Once in space Alesha banked and rolled clear of the Amandora and sent a signal they were on the way. "Well here we go."

Nix just smiled being quite impressed with Alesha's abilities "That was a very slick maneuver you pulled, I'm impressed" Nix commented.

Now Nix would sit back and wait until they approached the Moon before initiating the scanners.

"Thank you, I've used that maneuver a few times." Alesha replied as she headed for the neutral zone. "We'll cross the neutral zone in about thirty minutes. Then we'll arrive at Romulus not long after."

{Neutral Zone}

When the Fighter crossed into the Neutral Zone Nix initiated the scanners to be ready before they reached the Moon; she needed all the intel she could get and make sure the four people were there.....if they're still alive that is.

Once over the Neutral Zone Alesha switched set the cloak to a rotating frequency. That should keep them off any sensors the Romulans had. And headed for Romulus. "We'll be at Romulus in about thirty minutes and the moon in five minutes."

Nix could sense Dunjun getting more anxious as the minutes rolled on by "Easy old friend, we're going to be just fine...relax so I can concentrate on my job" "Sorry Nix, I'll try....have at it" she could sense him replying. "Alesha I'm programming each of their specific parameters into the sensors for the prisoners now" Nix commented "I think I see the Moon straight ahead."

"That's it," Alesha said slowing the fighter as she scanned for the larger tunnel "I vowed I'd never come back here again." several minutes later "I found the tunnel what are your scans showing? Are you picking up any life signs or is the moon's core blocking your scans?"

Nix checked then rechecked the scanners before answering "I'm only picking up two life signs of the prisoners.....either the others two are in a shielded area or" then she paused looking at Alesha "They've been executed already" she stated hoping that wasn't true.

"Then we better fly in and get a reading and see how many prisoners are in those cells. My only regret is I can't free them," Alesha said swinging her fighter around and headed into the tunnel, "I pray your not right and they're still alive. I can do severe damage to the cells but that would give things away and we don't need to draw attention right now."

As Alesha started to swing into the tight tunnels Dunjen just couldn't control himself any longer "Oh shit....we're gonna die" he lamented. "Would you please relax we'll be fine.....Alesha is an excellent pilot" she replied but was a little uneasy herself. Rechecking the scanners "I'm afraid I'm still only getting two life signs of the four people that I'm supposed to extract.....I fear the worst" Nix stated.

It took several minutes to navigate the tunnel, when the fighter broke into the large cavern Alesha kept it as close to the top as she dared, there were about twenty cells and nearly all were full of prisoners "I've never seen them so full. Those people need help, They're in bad shape."

Nix let out a sigh "What I'm about to say may sound cold but any good Infiltration Specialist must stay on mission. My orders are to extract the four prisoners that Star Fleet has asked to be extracted and that's it" she explained then continued "I don't like this anymore than you do but if you try to intercede on their behalf not only are you going against the Commodore's orders of Recon but you may very possibly start a war between the Federation and the Romulans."

"I know, and I agree with you. It's just I know what the Romulans are capable of doing to someone. We don't need a war between the Romulans and the Federation or anyone else. I try to do anything and it won't be good for my people either," Alesha said "None of us needs another costly war. Are the four Federation prisoners in here?" Alesha took readings on the cavern.

"I have scan conformation on two but I won't know on the other two for sure until I get down there" Nix explained "But I think we need to return to the Ship so I can get ready for the extractions since I'm on a time constraint while everyone else is at dinner."

"I've taken readings on the cavern too, time to get out of here, if the Amandora is at warp we won't be able to land until she stops so we can beam aboard," Alesha said pulling the fighter into a tight roll, bringing it about she headed for the opening the tunnel keeping a close eye on her forward sensors not wanting to pick up any unwanted company. The flight out went smoothly and soon they were back in space."

After a little while they arrived back at the Ship which had dropped out of warp getting ready to be beamed back aboard.

Alesha hoped any Romulan ships that could be watching hadn't noticed the ship had dropped from warp. Tapping her ear piece as she shut down the fighter's engines."Amandora this is Rivers, lock onto my signal and beam the fighter back, I'm cloaked"

"Acknowledged lieutenant I have a lock," came the reply

Minutes later they were back aboard and Alesaha dropped the cloak. Raising the canopy and removing her helmet "Well that went well. I'll get my readings to science, and the command staff. I hope I didn't scare you." she grinned climbing out of her fighter.

"No I'm fine, although I'm not so sure Dunjen wants to do that again anytime soon" Nix replied with a grin "I need to go and stow my gear and double check the next batch. I'll see you soon Alesha."

Nix turned and left the Main Shuttle Bay to head back to the Intelligence Department when she could sense Dunjen say "Your right about one thing.....I'd much prefer flying in something a little bit bigger."
