As Zenni was retaking all her qualification exams to get herself updated in the Starfleet database as who Kahn was now. It was hours of relentless slogging throguh questions she knew by heart. Starfleet rarely changed the curriculum except maybe once every five years. As she had been testing out and qualifying she dredged up a plethora of memories from past hosts, and with those memories Zenni was able to go forward in her duties. She had a handle on her memory trips and emotions. Being the eigth host had aided her in overcoming her fear and confusion. And, Kahn, well, it was busy examining itself intently and Zenni would feel worry and anxiety on occasion. It felt like Kahn was trying to keep those emotions and thoughts away from her. So, taking a break from her tests she leaned back in her desk chair and laid her right hand on her belly. "Hey, down there. You got something you need to share?"
Kahn motivated her s to stand up and walk over to her window, looking out at Outpost 27 as Amandora did a standard orbit around it. She ordered the lights off, letting the station lights and stars illuminate her quarters. "You're making me nervous, Kahn. What is wrong?"
Between them they could not speak, or at least, Kahn couldn't seem to transform its thoughts to words for her. But, it could convey feelings and images as it was doing now. Zenni had become quite good at interpreting the images and feelings added together. After all it was like her own subconscious relaying images and thoughts. With that form of communication kahn relayed to her that it had acquired a growth while the ermergency had happened. It was alive and despite Kahn's attempts to communicate with its own newly formed Symbiont there had been no success. Just a relentless stream of imagery and knowledge.
Zenni was now curious. "Okay," she took in a breath and released. "Let me see it." Kahn conveyed concern that it may be dangerous, not knowing how the stream would be accepted by her own brain. Zenni shook off any reluctance. "It is within me, then I need to see this. We're all in this together. Please, do it."
Kahn let the images go into Zenni's mind at full force, as she had requested. Within a few moments her brain had taken in a massive amount of knowledge, so fast and in depth it became a bright light that blinded her as agonizing pain shot into her head. She screamed and clutched her ears as she blacked out and hit the floor. Kahn kept her vitals steady and normal even though she was in mental shock, a cold sweat forming on her body as she shook and clutched herself. Her eyes were rolled into the back of her head as her mind tried to make sense of all it had taken in, trying to categorize enough to get the body working again. It would be hours before that would be possible.
