Post Number 16 Shopping and Exploring

Tara, Kristian and Alesha had taken a shuttle and had gone to the planet, they’d checked into the hotel. The clerk had told them the restaurant served real food, not replicated. Thanking him they made their way to their room, walking in a few minutes later Alesha looked around, walked over and opened the window. The breeze was warm, birds could be heard chirping in the trees, looking down she could see an open air market.

“I don’t know about the two of you but I’m going shopping. I could use some decorations for my quarters,” Alesha said grabbing her purse “Let’s meet for supper later,”

“Tara and I are going to explore,” Kristian said “Maybe even find something I can use in sick bay.”

“The scientist in me wants to see what this planet has to offer,” Tara replied picking up a satchel she carried for samples. “From what we’ve been told we’ll know if we try to go into areas that are off limits we’ll know it. So much of this planet has yet to be explored.”

“Let’s meet up in about four hours and we’ll have an early supper, do some shopping and see what the night scene is like. The commodore, Nira and I were in a tiki bar and I’d love to go back. The Margarita’s were wonderful,” Kristian commented

“That sounds fun,” Tara agreed “Where do we want to meet up at?”

“When we beamed in I saw a restaurant called Sids, the aroma coming from it was mouthwatering how about we meet there in four hours?” Kristian suggested

“It’s a date,” Alesha said as she headed on her way.

Tara changed into a pair of shorts, tank top, tennis shoes, Kristian did the same and they headed out. The cousins strolled through the town and soon found themselves on the outskirts of the town. A forest lay ahead and they walked into it. Tara pulled out her tri-coder and began to run scans, spotting an unusual looking plant. She scanned it, the plant moved back from her tri-coder “Kris, look at this.”

Kristian looked at the plant “I’ve seen this before back on Denobula it’s harmless. It has several medical properties. I never used it.”

“Do you want me to get a sample of it?” Tara asked

“No, I don’t know enough about it and I don’t want to risk taking it back to the ship. Besides it is alive and I’d like to keep it that way,” Kristian said

They continued to stroll through the forest, Tara collecting samples for later study.

Alesha strolled through the open air market, picking up several items for her quarters She loved Dolphins, seeing a Dolphin figurine Alesha purchased it along with a couple of skirts, blouses and some jewelry. It felt good to be off the ship and not to worry about things for a change. After spending the next several hours shopping Alesha returned to the hotel room to drop off her purchases and then headed to Sid’s to meet Tara and Kristian for an early supper and from there the Tiki Bar for some drinks and dancing.
