{Deck 5 - Quarters}

Heather was all excited about going down to Tython to collect some plant samples; she was especially interested in the amount of chlorophyl contained in each specimen.

After breakfast James and Heather dressed in the warm weather Star Fleet attire of khaki sorts and matching short sleeved shirt along with some hiking boots.

As they were getting ready to leave Heather asked "James, mind if we swing by my lab so I can grab some specimen bags...it won't take long" she explained trying to contain her excitement.

"Yup no problem, then we'll go to the Transporter Room and beam down" James replied following his wife out the door.

{Deck 6 - Transporters}

The couple stepped onto the pads as James instructed the Operator where they needed to go and moments later they were off Ship.

{Tython}

The couple materialized on the surface enjoying the nice warm sun and the dirt under their feet with real gravity and not the artificial kind they were used to.

They walked off the beaten path to a lush green area as Heather handed James the bags "Here honey take these so I can get the samples" she asked with a smile.

"Sure no problem" as he grabbed the bags from her. James had worked with Heather long enough to know that when she was on a collecting mission he was her assistant. She was very focused and collected the samples so as not to look like she had done so when she was finished.

After a couple of hours she had all the samples collected that she had bags for "There, I think these should keep me busy for awhile in the lab" she stated "So now what?'

"Would you like to find a little eatery and have an early dinner before we return, since we're allowed to have some fun besides work" James commented with a grin.

"That sounds nice but I'll have to beam my specimens back to the lab first" Heather explained then tapping her Comm "Transporter Room this is Lieutenant Heather McTavish....I have some specimens if you could lock onto them and beam them directly to Lab 5 I'd appreciate it very much."

"No problem Lieutenant, I'd more than happy to" came the reply as the specimens disappeared. Tapping her Comm again "Ensign Smith this is Heather McTavish I just had some plant samples beamed to the lab, could you secure them for me...James and I are going to have dinner."

"I can do that" came the reply "Enjoy your dinner Lieutenant."

The couple started walking around the City when something caught James olfactory senses as he stopped [sniff] [sniff] looking at Heather "Smell that....oh man does that smell good" he stated.

Heather sniffed the air as well "Ya that smells awesome, what is it" she asked.

Then a big smile came across James' face "If not mistaken, that's the smell of BBQ meat....do you want to try some?" he asked.

"Yes....we haven't had that in ages" Heather replied as she could feel her mouth starting to water.

The couple walked a few more yards and there it was....an open air BBQ joint with the smoker right out in front going like crazy.

They walked up to the canopy covered bar and grabbed some seats as a gentlemen came over to them "Welcome to the best BBQ joint on the planet" he stated with a smile "What can I get you folks."

Looking at the menu boards James knew exactly what to order "I'll have half a rack of ribs and an Iced Tea to go with it" James ordered then Heather chimed in "I'll have the same thing as my husband is having."

"Good choice and I promise you...you won't be disappointed as he poured them their teas.

A few minutes later the gentleman brought over their ribs with plenty of napkins "Here you go folks enjoy" as he turned to wait on other customers.

James grinned "Well you ready to get messy" he said looking at Heather who nodded then started taking apart the ribs as James did the same.

After a few minutes of finger licking and lip smacking Heather said "Oh James this is so good, I'm glad we found this place."

James stopped eating about long enough to reply "So am I...I haven't had ribs this good in forever....look at the bark and the smoke ring on these things" as he went back to devouring this tasty meal.

After they had finished James looked at Heather "OK I'm not hungry anymore" he stated with a grin as Heather nodded in agreement. When they paid for their meal, the owner brought over a wet towel for each of them "Here, can't have you leaving with messy fingers" he said with a grin. The couple made use of the offering then they got up and left.

A couple of hours went by as the couple walked around talking and taking in the sights "This a such a nice place....do you think someday we could retire to a place like this" Heather inquired really liking the surroundings.

James smiled "I think that can be arranged" he commented "Besides when we get old the warmer weather would be good for the old joints too."

After awhile James and Heather returned to the Amandora....they had taken the specimens that she wanted and also had a fun day to boot.
