This was a solemn time for Lt Odac Yova as he would be leaving the ship following this mission. His new replacement was not a familiar face but one he hoped would be a good fit for the Commodore.

" Lt Dorox have you completed the diagnostics? " Odac asked.

" Yes and I found other items that needed to be done soon. Calibration of the transporter pattern buffer needs to be moved up the list." Dorox answered.

He was right as the pattern discrimination system was in need of an upgrade. That took two hours of their shift.

" Okay let's take a break." Odac shifted on his padd.

" I do not require a break. What is next?" Dorox asked.

" Lieutenant Clinton is trying to boost impulse power. You can go help him." Odac replied as he wanted his break.

That lasted about 15 minutes when Dorox managed to piss Horton off.

" I don't think he appreciated my suggestions." Dorox joked.
" With Horton you never know. He is a good engineer use him well." Odac replied.

Dorox nodded.
" Why are you leaving?"
" Family, my wife is on Starbase Mercury with our soon to be kiddos." Odac replied.

" My family is still on Marcos 12. I have a mate but we have not seen one another in two years. " Dorox replied.

Odac handed Dorox a glass and poured a liquid in it. " To family. "

Sipping the drink they then resumed the tour.
