Mission:
Zaris Three
Location: Tara'a Office and Planet Surface
Timeline: Current
ON:
After meeting with Cyndi and James, Tara logged into the diplomatic channels. Something that even though she had always had access to considering things from Amzock was something she’d not made a habit of. But with her new position as chief diplomatic officer was something Tara now felt more comfortable doing. After deciding on who to talk to a name came to mine. It had been a few years since she’d spoken to him, ever since she’d told him who she was on her home planet. Marrying a Princess was not something he was willing to do. Tara had understood as being a Royal was something not everyone could accept.
Tara placed the call to Mark Meadows and he came on the minute the link was established. “Hello Mark, are you busy?” Tara asked
“Nothing that can’t wait, what do I owe this call to?” Mark asked “Your parents okay?”
“Mum and dad are fine, Mark I need some advice. I’ve been given a new position on my ship not only and I the assistant science chief but I’m now the chief diplomatic officer,” Tara said
“Congratulations, Starfleet must have heard your working a treaty between Amzock and the Romulan Empire. What do you need?” Mark asked
Tara filled him in on the ship’s mission right down to meeting Mala and the hidden passage. “What do you suggest?”
“You said Zaris Three?” seeing her nod he rubbed his chin a few minutes “I think you need to talk to this Mala more, if I remember right her people were the first ones there. The others as she calls them came much later. That’s all I know.”
“Thanks Mark,” Tara replied
“Anytime,” Mark said “Keep in touch with me unless you’re married by now.”
“I’ll keep in touch, no I’m not married. Starfleet keeps me busy. I’m a normal person in Starfleet and you know that’s how I wanted it. I’ll be in touch. I’ll beam down and see what Mala has to say. Thanks Mark,” Tara responded as she closed the link.
Getting to her feet, Tara grabbed her tri-coder, another field kit and headed for the transporter room but not before alerting the commodore and Commander O’Connell that she was returning to the surface.
Tara walked into the transporter room a few minutes later “May I?” she asked the operator
“Of course lieutenant,” he responded stepping aside so she could enter her destination
“Beam me to that location,” Tara said stepping onto the transporter pad and in seconds was back in the hidden area.
“You came back,” Mala said after seeing Tara materialize
“I’d like to talk more about you, this place and the others,” Tara said “I’ve learned some things.”
“Then you’ll need to speak with Jorst, come,” Mala said leading the way deeper into the hidden area.
