{Deck 6 - Transporter Room One}

Zero one hundred rolled around pretty quickly for the team. Nix arrived a little early with both vests in hand waiting for her counterpart.

Heather walked in to see Nix already there "Good morning, I see you have our vests with you already" she commented.

"Yes, I thought I'd take the liberty of getting a jump on things" Nix explained "So were you able to get any sleep."

"I did get some sleep with Jamie's help" she replied with a grin.

Nix chuckled as she could hear Dunjen "Boy I would have liked to have been a fly on that wall" he commented. "You just never mind" Nix thought to herself. "So you ready then?"

"Yes, let's get going and see what we find" Heather replied being all business now.

Nix had already given the Operator the coordinates as the ladies stepped on the Pads "Energize" Nix ordered as they disappeared in two beams of white light.

The Specialists materialized a short distance from the building in a out of the way area.

Nix looked around to make sure they hadn't been spotted then motioned to Heather as the two quickly made their way to the building sticking to the shadows as much as possible.

Once there Nix grabbed her Tech from her vest and proceeded to unlock the door quietly as the two made their way into the building.

Inside was poorly lit as they started down a flight of stairs. After going a few feet Nix motioned to stop as she grabbed the small sphere then tossed it into the air. With the aid of her forearm screen she guided the sphere far enough ahead to make sure the coast was clear, then they proceeded cautiously.

As they rounded a corner Nix stopped and motioned to Heather...there was a guard sitting at a desk, but only one. Heather grabbed a sleeping dart and blow gun from her vest and took careful aim....the dart flew and hit it's intended target and moments later the guard was asleep. Nix turned and gave Heather a thumbs up as much as to say "Good job." Heather smiled but of course it couldn't be seen under her hood.

A little ways down the hallway Heather noticed a large room with bars across the front of it as she tapped Nix on the shoulder and pointed ahead.

They walked over and Nix removed her hood as she could see people on the other side of the bars. "Hello?" Nix said as a women stood and walked over to the bars "Who are you, are you here to free us" the women asked being dirty looking and hair was all messy.

Nix smiled "We're here to see what's going on" she replied "Who are you people" she queried.

That was the first time the women had seen anyone smile in a very long time "We're being held against our will and have been for a long time" she replied.

Then Heather chimed in "But why....what have you done wrong?"

"We've done nothing wrong....we're being held because of what we are" she stated.

"What do you mean by what you are" Nix queried being a little confused.

"We are known as Albanes.....we have white instead of blue skin. The Governor says that if we are free then we'll pollute society and the bloodline while destroying the culture" she explained with a tear in her eye.

"I've never heard of such a thing.....how can the color of one's skin be a reason for such stupidity" Heather stated being a little pissed at the moment.

"I don't know but it is....all we want to do is go someplace and live our lives in peace" she replied while starting to sob.

"How many are you" Nix queried not being able to see that well in the dim light.

"There are about a dozen of us left....women, some men. and a few children....the old and weak ones sadly have gone to the Great Beyond" the women explained.

Hearing the women Heather's heart was broken as she pulled Nix by the arm and walked a few meters away from the area so as not to be heard "So what do we do....are we going to free these poor souls" she asked being hopeful.

Nix let out a sigh "Sadly there is nothing we can do right now...we have our orders to see what's down here and that's all. When we return to the Ship then perhaps something can be done through diplomatic channels" she explained.

Heather thought for a moment "Well that just plain sucks that we can't do something for these people" she replied not liking what she was hearing.

"Look Heather I don't like this any more than you do....but we have to follow orders and as hard is that is to accept....we have no other choice" she explained "But we will tell Command and I'm sure the Commodore will do something for these people."

"Alright I'll follow orders but it doesn't mean I have to like it" Heather stated.

"I'm right there with you" she replied then walked back over to where the women was standing "We will do everything in our power to free your people but it will have to be through diplomatic channels and may take a few days....so you'll have to be patient."

The women smiled "Anything that you can do for us would be life saving even if it takes some time" she replied having some hope for the first time in a very long time.

Nix smiled back "I promise we'll do whatever we can for you....but now we have to go before we get discovered" she explained.

"I understand and I hope to see the daylight again soon" the women replied with a tear in her eye.

Nix just nodded as the two pulled their hoods back up and started back up the stairs towards the door.

As the Specialists approached the door Nix heard Dunjen "Stop someones coming" so Nix pushed Heather into the shadows as the two waited.

A minute later another guard opened the door when he stated "That's odd why's the door unlocked" as he walked past the ladies unaware of their presence.

Nix nodded to Heather as the guard walked past and Heather stepped forward and put a sleeper hold around the guys neck and moments later he went limp. They placed him in an alcove then made it through the door and back to where they had beamed in.

Tapping her Comm "Transporter Room One this is Dunjen.....get us out of here" and moments later the ladies were gone from Zaris Three as if they had never been there.
