The more Tara thought and went over what Mala had told her and what they'd spoken to Kyron about the more curious Tara got. Tapping her com-badge "Commodore Song and Lieutenant McTavish this is Lieutenant Herculoid, can you meet me in my office.

James was in the Biology Lab going over what samples he had collected with Heather when his Comm went off. Looking at Heather "Looks like I'm needed elsewhere....have fun and I'll see you at home later" he commented as she nodded and smiled being quite eager to get to work.

McTavish walked into to Tara's Office "What's up Lieutenant" he queried as he grabbed a seat at the round table.

Cyndi walked in just in time to hear what McTavish asked as she took a seat as well. "It sounds urgent."

Tara nodded "I was exploring a hidden passage between two large rocks and I discovered a hidden area, there were all sorts of things there. I met a Elfin creature who called herself Mala. She voiced concerns over Kyron and those that live on Zaris Three."

McTavish knew Tara wasn't in the habit of calling meetings unless she felt it was important "What kind of concerns" he queried giving her his full attention.

"This hidden area is like something I've never seen, the sky was a soft pink color, the clouds were a bright pink, everything smelled so fresh and woodsy. That's when Mala showed up asking if I was going to hurt her. There were different insects flying around and what I think of as flighty things that she called moths," Tara said as she handed over her tri-coder so that James and Cyndi could see her readings.

After looking at the data with Cyndi, James was quite intrigued "Those readings are like nothing I've ever seen before.....very interesting" he commented "But why was this creature asking if you were going to hurt her or not."

"From what she told me, is the others as she called them would go there, destroy their houses, trample the fields and because they use the moths to get around on they depend on them and the others take the moths because they're pretty and are never seen again," Tara said

"And by the others I'm guessing you mean Kryon and the rest of the people that live there," Cyndi commented

"That's what I'm assuming and I can only imagine by her remarks about being hurt is Kyron and the others are doing something that can harm those beings," Tara replied. "She asked I not tell anyone as this passage is well hidden and I assured her I'd only tell my commanding officer and a few others on the ship, she said that was fine and I beamed aboard from there so no one would see me."

James sat for a few moments letting what Tara had told them time to sink in "Well, besides an incredible find, it sounds to me like maybe Zaris Three isn't quite what we first thought it was" he stated.

"It does need to be looked into more carefully," Cyndi agreed "Tara do you think our sensors can pick up that hidden area?"

"Possibly but my fear is if Kyron or Denor pick up sensor probes it could cause Mala and her people harm. I don't want to tip them off until we know more," Tara replied.

"Good point, Cyndi agreed.

"So then the question becomes, how do we go about finding out more information while keeping their secret" James commented trying to figure out a course of action "Lieutenant is there anything you can do through Diplomatic channels.....like you said any scans may be detected by the planet."

"There may be, let me look into things and I'll see what I can come up with. What I do know is Mala seemed very scared," Tara replied

"I'd be scared too if there were beings around that could do me bodily harm on a whim" James replied.

"As would I," Cyndi agreed "Tara dig into both races and see what you can find. I'm also very curious as to why the passage you went through had a different colored sky."

"That is interesting as to why a different colored sky" James stated "Although I suppose it could be from a gas in the upper atmosphere which may be filtered out before it hits the ground."

"I wonder though why just that area and not the entire planet?" Tara commented

"You have your work cut out for you lieutenant, I've never heard of anything like that. Perhaps I'll beam down and take a look myself," Cyndi said "James, Tara see what you can find out about this. There is going to be an infiltration team heading down later. Hopefully they'll uncover something too. Both of you keep me posted. Herculoid good work."
