Timeline: Concurrent to Post 40-41

Will quickly jumped into the lift and hastened home. He had missed Amethyst and Kal. His family experience was different than some who had chosen Star Fleet.

" Lucy I'm home," Will said just in case anyone was there. His goal was to have dinner ready for Amethyst and Kal. Then a quick walk through the observation deck.

Amethyst was sitting on the sofa doing some colouring with Kal, she’d managed to get some descent rest before Christina had brought Kal home and was feeling better for it. She was still waiting for some test results from the Doctor as to what was going on with her abilities, but for now she was glad to be feeling more herself. She smiled as she looked up at Will, “Hey handsome, how is everything?”

" I was hoping to surprise you. I want to make you dinner and go for a stroll. Caesar salad and French silk pie?" Will asked.

The events with the spider's and Amethyst’s situation was weighing heavily on Will. To a pinnacle point he had made a decision.

Amethyst nodded enthusiastically “That sounds lovely!” She smiled at Kal. “How’s about you go get your computer and play some games for a little while?”

Kal nodded and ran off to his room to get his computer, returning a few moments later he sprawled out on the floor to play.

“Anything I can do to help?” Amethyst smiled as she walked over to Will and gave him a loving kiss. “I can help prepare the food if you want?”

" Yeah in that drawer over there. Can you get me the read box?" Will pointed. In the drawer was indeed a box, a jewelry box.

When Amethyst opened it a song played, " For I Can't Help Falling In Love with You." a song from 20th century Elvis Presley of Earth

Also inside was a perfectly cut diamond also from Earth.

" This belonged to my Grand Ma."

Will hugged Amethyst from behind and whispered, " Will you be my wife tonight? I don't want to wait any more."

Amethyst looked at Will in shock and surprise. “I ...” She paused before nodding and throwing her arms around him. “Yes I will”

" My family are of Scottish descent, highlanders. I want us to do a Handfasting until we can get back to either Earth or Betazed, with your permission?”

“A Handfasting?” Amethyst looked at Will curiously. “I’ve never heard of that before but yes, I trust you.”

Will smiled.

" We will be in comms range and can have two family members remotely witness if you want that. My family resides on Fraziers Ridge North Carolina."

"I don't mind, I'm just looking forward to being your wife!" Amethyst grinned. "Heavens I'll need something pretty to wear or should I save that for our proper ceremony?"

" The holo deck could accomplish all of that actually? Ensign Humphreys has it all set up for us. I was going to divert us there when we walked to the observation deck.

"Just give me a moment to put on something pretty?" She smiled the biggest smile yet as she got up. "Can you get Kal ready? I'd like him there with us."

Will smiled and rushed to help his son get dressed. That one took a while.

< Two Hours later >

Will and Kal went on ahead and awaited the arrival of the bride. Eva Humphreys manned the arch as her communications link had secured a signal both to Betazed and Earth with a numerous relay connection and repeaters throughout the star systems. Not unlink the old ham radio days employed on earth.

Before Amethyst was to arrive a voice entered her head. A focused less painful one now.

(( Hi friend. I was approved to stay aboard by Cyndi. I reside in the hydrophonics deck 17 if you wish to come visit me.)) Brol communicated.

(( That’s wonderful Brol )) Amethyst smiled to herself as she hurried along to the holodeck for her wedding. (( I’ll come see you when I can. )) Stepping in through the holodeck doors Amethyst smiled the biggest smile yet as she saw Kal and his father waiting for her. For now she’d settled for a three quarter length white dress in a wedding dress style.

Instantanously pixels produced avatars of members of both Amethyst and Will Raymonds family.

" We only have a 15 minute window folks so chop chop," Eva Humphreys warned referring to the signal strength.

The tradition of handfasting was performed as Kal wrapped the ribbon around bith their hands.
