Posted on Sun Aug 2nd, 2020 @ 3:55pm by Captain Jackson Porter
Mission:
The Restroffs (Space Spiders)
Location: USS Amandora
Timeline: After the fighers return from the spider web
ON:
Jackson brought his fighter back into it's place aboard the Amandora, following behind Lieutenant Foster's fighter. Once landed, he powered down and climbed out to do a quick exterior check. As he did, he heard footsteps approach from behind.
"Sir, I'm...I'm sorry, I didn't realize-"
JP turned around and held his hands up to Foster. "Easy, Foster, it's alright. None of us knew that would happen."
"No, true," Foster replied, "but still...I think it may have made things worse."
"I can't argue there." JP rubbed a small scratch on the shuttle and turned back to Foster. "Either way, I'm please with how you handled yourself out there. You didn't panic, despite the situation turning pretty fast on us. Well done!"
Foster smiled. "Thank you, sir. I've never felt that panicking helps any situation out."
Porter nodded. He motioned for Foster to follow him. The two walked out of the bay and made their way back to Porter's office, where he gestured for Foster to take a seat in front of his desk. "It dawned on me that we never got to have a proper meet before these orders came about. Tell me a little about yourself."
Foster cleared his throat and sat back. "Well, I grew up on New Berlin with my parents. My dad is a helmsman and my mom is a science officer, both aboard the USS Lima...it's, uh, it's a Galaxy-class ship that's currently assigned to a fleet protecting the Springer Sector." He shifted in his chair a bit. "They're the reason why I decided to join Starfleet. All those years seeing what they and everyone else did for a living, putting their lives on the line to protect and uplift the Federation."
Porter nodded in agreement. "Same with me. My dad worked his way up the ranks to colonel in the Starfighter Corps all throughout my life, and flying was something that was always there in my life. But I didn't mean to interrupt, please continue."
"That's ok, sir...so, I, uh....what else about me? I like to golf, I'm pretty good at my phaser qualifications. Other than that, I'm just like any other officer."
"So it seems," Porter replied. "We have quite a diverse crew aboard the Amandora, but everyone seems to be in check when it comes to Starfleet standards. And I expect nothing less than the best from my crew." As Foster nodded in agreement, Porter glanced at the clock. "Well, I should probably get a hold of the XO and debrief about what just happened. I want you to stay on hot standby in case we're needed again pretty soon."
Foster stood up. "Will do, sir." He turned around and headed back to the hangar to look over his fighter.
After Foster left, Porter keyed the comm. =/\= "Computer, please send a message to Commander Raymond that I would like to meet with him to debrief about my mission." =/\= The computer beeped in compliance, and Porter started compiling data from the fighters and the ship's own sensors.
