Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: asteroid
Timeline: current
ON:
Having left the others Green walked with determined steps around to the left, then a right, the corridors bathed in deep shadows. Once she turned right she could see down the large corridor the singularity core, and the core of the asteroid. The bridge span on this side had an item laying upon it, and when her eyes adjusted to glance at it as she walked down the hall, Ro realized it was the body of Tore Bjorgo. His teral'n was standing up out of his chest, and though her angle prevented the sight from here, for now, she knew he was gone. The Core told her he was gone, her Sense detecting no life. Pushing down her sorrow, and more importantly her anger, Green continued forward even as her left hand came up and lifted the corpse of her lover and moved it to the side. Her right hand unhooked the saber hilt from her belt as Green stepped out into the openness of the immense central chamber. Using her left hand Green took the hilt of the other saber in hand even as her eyes set themselves on her opposition directly ahead. "Ohhhhh, Jynxzaaaa! I'm hooooome!" She stopped just outside of the corridor she had exited.
Jynxza had stood and waited for her 'sister' to appear, her own fine-tuned Core senses telling her so. She held her staff upright in her right hand and upon seeing, and hearing, her nemesis she brought the weapon up in a pointed fashion, the head of the staff opening with an electrical snap as she sent bolts of plasma at her enemy.
Not expecting an immediate attack Green ignited both her blades, one blue, one crimson, and crossed them over each other in front of her as a shield, backed by the power of the Core energy. The bolts impacted the blades and exploded in their own fashion, the first two pushing Ro back a few feet as her soles slid back with the power output. A third struck dead center and Ro's hold on the Core faultered as that bolt struck the blades and caused them to clash and spark. The explosive force sent Green rolling backward as she closed the blue blade she retained while the crimson blade was thrust from her grasp and closed on its own. Fiery portions of the plasma bolt had gone through her defense and strcuk along her left side at the face, neck and collar bone. Overheated flesh with abrasions to match, her vest smoldering where the energy had gotten through and did its bare minimal damage. From experience she knew that if she had not blocked most of it the impact would have removed her head at the neck. But, she did not have the luxury of thinking on it further.
Seeing her bolts had had the desired effect, to throw Ro off balance, Jynxza's eyes widened slightly as she had seen her old saber igniting along with Ro's blue. As Green tumbled back and recovered from the wallop Jynxza leaped through the air in a wide arc, hand extending out as she called her old, familiar weapon to her grasp. Landing perfectly she ignited the blade and glorified in the crimson radiance as she came in fast to attack and destroy the warden who had imprisoned her. Green was as good as always and had recovered well from her initial damage, her own cloud blue blade igniting and coming to bare. The two blades sparked and crackled as they whirled in both attack and defense, the two Core users now out of the central chamber as the racket of their conflict moved further away as Jynxza pushed Green back with the intensity of her attack.
Expecting an onslaught of rage Green did a kip-up as Jynxza landed and ignited her saber. Ro's blue blade sprang to life just in time to deflect a swipe that would have beheaded her. She could see in Jynxza's eyes that the Chulakan was reveling in having her blade back, and was determined to push forward with her destruction of an enemy. Going on the defensive Green allowed Jynxza to come forward as she focused on keeping that red blade from getting inside, the Core, or Force as it was known in the other galaxy, knowing where she needed to deflect and aided in guiding her there. Now, with the others safely out of Jynxza's view and thoughts, Green began to bring her offensive style to bare. Stepping in she began to swing her blade with speed and accuracy, a blur of blue and red as they went back and forth, toe-to-toe, only moving their feet to dance in a small circle with each other. As Jynx blocked a signicantly strong swipe did Green lean in and bash her in the bridge of her nose with the top-front of her own skull.
The blow to her face was unexpected and Jynxza saw a flash of light behind her eyes as she stumbled back, blood now pouring from her broken nose. She saw Green grinning as the woman eased off and stepped back, the two now pacing back and forth with the lull in the fighting.
"Sting much?" Asked Green, the grin not leaving her face.
Jynxza spat and blew the blood from her lips, swiping her left arm over her mouth the remove the excess, which left an unpleasant smear of the fluid across her cheek. "What a pair we make. I burn your flesh you break my nose. It was only fair."
"Fair?" Green chuckled derisively. "Fairness has nothing to do with it. This ends one of two ways. Surrender, or burn."
"I choose burn!" Jynxza growled out as she came in with another attack. Again, blades whirled, thrummed and crackled as the two combatants fought each other, neither gaining the upper hand.
Green could sense the toll their battle was taking on Jynxza's body, one that had not seen saber combat for many years. Hard to maintain training when one's weapon had been taken away from them. "Dammit, Jynxza, give it up." She pushed her own attack, backing Jynxza up to a wall and using a blow that would cause their blades to lock together as they both used the Core to maintain the strength to hold off the other's blade. The mix of blue and red lighting and the sparks flashing from the connected blades made for a grisly image as Ro looked her old friend in the eyes. "You are beaten! There is nowhere to go!"
Jynxza held her mud, the crossed blades lighting the two of them up in crackling energy. The Core was strong and she was recouping her strength through it, doing what humans liked to call a rope-a-dope. But, then, out of nowhere her Sense told her something disheartening, something horrible. Her children were under duress and there was nothing she could do for them. Or, was there?
As Ro held her blade in place she saw the change in Jynxza's eyes, that her consideration had changed. "Jynxza? Do you hear me?"
Her eyes focused on Ro again, looking her in the eye, and then she used the Core to help push the woman back and away. As Ro recovered and went into a defensive stance Jynxza closed her blade down and dropped the hilt to the deck. "I surrender. No tricks. Cowardly of you to use my children against me."
Green, still ready for anything, was surprised by that. "What?" Her blade still lit Ro held it down at her right side; the side facing Jynxza, just in case. "What are you talking about? What children?"
"The twins," stated Jynx, matter of fact. "They were aboard a cloaked runabout but, it seems they weren't hidden well enough. If they are harmed..." She let it trail off.
"You know better than that," said Green, her tone one of understanding. Holding her left hand out Jynxza's saber leaped into her grasp, and once held, she then closed down her own and placed it on her belt. "Help us shut down the Singu..."
In the blink of an eye Jynxza moved in close, Green's own saber leaping from her belt and into Jynxza's hand, being ignited and thrust through Ro's torso. Her eyes burned with a feral amber glow, an evil grin on her face even as she slapped the other saber from Green's grip. The look of utter shock and surprise, mixed with pain, gave Jynx a glorious feeling. Pulling the saber free she did a twirl about, tossing Green's saber away and reclaiming her own even as she watched Ro stumble back into the wall and then slide down to a sitting up position, the dark circle in the center of her chest still smoking from the burnt cloth and flesh.
Green had let her guard down, had trusted, and now it had cost her. The only thing keeping her alive was her own mastery of the Core, keeping things together as she began her own internal healing. This was a grievous wound and that effort alone was all she could muster. "If I die...you will ne...ver see your...babies...again."
"In life the weak die along the way, and the cowards never start," stated Jynxza. "Whether they live or die is on them. Now, I go to deal with your companions. I'll make sure to tell them you say good bye." With a final look of victory Jynxza spun on her heel and walked away.
