Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: USS Amandora
Timeline: current

Resch had sat and listened to the group of friends discuss the planet Rigo IV, summarily forgotten about as Kirk engaged Green to explain everything about her home world. Marcus could not, and would not be offended by such actions. It had been plenty obvious that Ro had some PTSD about her time there, having to survive as a child in a harsh wilderness. So, when the group finally broke and the pairs went their way he decided to follow Kirk and Green, at a discrete distance, of course. He stayed far enough back as to not hear what they discussed, being the polite individual that he was.
When the two women broke apart to go their own way that was when Marcus hurried to catch up with Kirk. "Hey, Jim," he said as he approached quickly from behind, realizing she had not heard him the first time. "Jimmie, wait up."
Kirk heard her 'first' name being said from behind, but a variation of it that she did not often hear. She stopped and spun halfway to look back, a grin appearing on her face as she saw who it was. "Jimmie? You don't look like my uncle Roth."
Marcus gave a toothy smile as he caught up and stood facing her. "Apologies. Just trying to get you to slow down, or stop."
That was when Kirk realized what she, and the group, had done to him. "I'm the one who needs to apologize. I didn't mean to ignore you and just walk away..."
Resch waved it off. "With what was going on, I understand. But, with Rigo IV sounding like a perfect place to put my boots on I was wondering if you would accept one more guest?"
A big smile appeared on Kirk's face. "Absolutely. But, 5 on 5 will make it tight, and if you need to sleep then there will be sections of floor to lay a bedroll on."
"I'd ride on the roof in an EVA suit just to have a planet to play on," replied Resch.
Kirk laughed. "That would be a sight, but not necessary. You are more than welcome, Marcus. And, I'm sure the others would agree. But, like I said, the Delta isn't a runabout, it'll be tight for the trip."
Marcus chuckled. "Maybe we can huddle together to save space?" The only reaction he got from Jim was a bigger grin, but she didn't say no. Something to think about. But, before she could respond he waved it off. "Sorry, bad joke. I'm okay with crowding as long as the trip is worth it."
Jim had taken in what he had said about huddling, her only response a grin. After the apology she answered. "You never know how the sleeping arrangements will be until you try them, right?" Her face went back to being a bit more serious. "But, I have things to do so I advise packing one duffle and getting it to 5. See you later, Marcus." She gave a squeeze to his upper arm and then departed.
Liking what he had heard Resch turned back the way he had come and began to walk. The day was looking brighter already.
