BUGS OH NO!!

Having left the group at the lounge Green proceeded back to the Bridge, checking and finding that Cyndi was in her office. Stepping out of the Bridge starboard lift she made her way directly ahead, crossing behind Flight Control and Operations Manager, directly to the Ready Room door. She hit the chime and waited as she pulled her palm PADD from her thigh pocket.
"Come in, Cyndi called.
Hearing the summons Green entered Song's office. As she came further inside she gave a grin. "I'm glad you're sitting down, finally. For a while there I thought you were going to fall down. I assigned Mister Resch for a reason, Cyndi, to help alleviate some of your work load. Please, use him, before I have to declare you unfit until you take some down time."
"Believe me I have used him," Cyndi said "He's been an asset, I thank you. Now your sounding like my husband." she gave Ro a look "You wouldn't dare declare me unfit."
"Bet me," challenged Green, grinning as she said it. "An exhausted CO makes mistakes and we have had enough mistakes as of late. But, you're sitting and relaxing so the issue is dropped." Plopping her tush in a chair in front of the Commodore's desk she brought her PADD up and glanced at it randomly as she spoke. "First, I'd like you to sign off with me on a message to Starfleet Command, to get the Amandora an Efficiency ribbon for the entire crew. Something to proudly wear on the dress uniform for their service, which was above and beyond the call of duty."
"I'll gladly sign off on that, this crew has well earned it," Cyndi said her eyes misting "Special notations to the crew and officer's we've lost. They deserve something as well."
It took a moment but Green adjusted her feelings and blocked any sorrow at this time. "Agreed." That was all she needed to say on that subject, switching to her second reason for being here. "I would like to put West and O'Connell in for the Starfleet Silver Star award for their exemplary service in boarding, and then using a captured ship to bring the Akira class back to us. Along with that I would like to promote Lieutenant West to the rank of Captain. He is in the zone for such a promotion anyway, and his latest actions prove he deserves it."
"Not only West, but Kirk and Rivers, as well. Kirk is a go-getter, and she has been in her fair share of trouble in the past. But, I saw a dedicated officer during this whole debacle, one that was willing to give her life to save others. Had she not broken a few Academy rules while there she would have graduated as a LT jg. In my opinion she has earned her black pip."
"Lieutenant Rivers is also one to not back down from a fight. She still needs a bit more seasoning but every time we send her out she does what we have asked her to do, and sometimes a bit more. If you agree to this one then I will make sure to ride her a bit harder and turn her into a razor when it comes to officer country." Finally, taking in a breath after all the hot wind she had spewed, Green eased back into her own chair. "So, what do you think, Cyndi?"
I agree on all fronts," Cyndi said "They've all gone above and beyond the call of duty and are well deserving. Now Rivers, she's a different case. She's not Starfleet trained, but is a damned fine officer. If you want to ride her hard by all means do so. She's proven herself in combat, hand to hand and she's not one to break or back down from anything. So what ever you want to do to or with her you have my permission."
"Awesome," said Ro with a smile. "They will be field promotions until Starfleet signs off on them, but that is not a worry. Our logs will show HQ what these people are worth. Which brings me to the last person we need to discuss; Doctor-Marine Sean Silk. That man has been aboard for quite some time and has proven himself invaluable to our Medical department. He hasn't seen much action on the marine front, but we've seen him in action as a green machine on certain occasions. So, I would like to promote him to 1st Lieutenant, at minimum, for his service time aboard Amandora. If you feel he deserves more I won't hesitate to agree."
"He's more than earned it, so yes 1st Lieutenant or higher is fine by me. He's a good officer and again will not back down either," Cyndi said.
Green gave a chuckle, tapping her PADD a few times before looking back up. "Good. Captain Silk it is, then. With his medical credentials added to his service record he well deserves a rank equal to full lieutenant. Do we call them up and present the promotions, or surprise them with a personal message that they're out of uniform?" She smiled like the Cheshire cat.
Song wanted to leave it to PM's since she was as tired as she was. Green understood and assured her CO that she would handle it. All of those awarded, one way or another, had deserved it. The Silver Star awards would have to wait until the Federation Council and HQ agreed. But, as before, she had no worries there. As Green left the Ready Room she went to her chair and sat down, now in nominal command of the Bridge so that Song could remain at rest. As she sat there she sent out the PM's to each promoted, informing them of their need to wear the proper uniform of the day. That made her grin to herself, imagining the eyes of each as they opened the message and saw what it entailed. Later, a ceremony of congratulations could be held, but Ro wanted to wait until the Silver Stars had been approved. Satisfied with the results of the meeting Green tucked her PADD away and began to pay full attention to the Bridge.
