{Deck 5 - Main Lab}

Cassandra walked into the Lab looking for Lieutenant Hunt; after spying him she walked over "Good morning Lieutenant, you up for an Away Mission" she asked with a smile.

Armen looked up "Sure Boss what do you have in mind" he replied with a grin.

"I want to shuttle down to the Planet and start collecting some samples and thought you might like a break in routine for a bit" Cass responded.

"Sounds good to me....let me just grab my gear then I'll be right with you" Armen stated.

"Take your time, we'll meet in thirty in Shutle Bay 5.....and you might want to change your uniform into the Kaki one since it's rather warm on the surface" Cass suggested.

Armen looked at his uniform "Point taken" he replied with a grin "I'll meet you in thirty then."

The Lieutenant walked back into her Office and went to the cabinet by her desk. She grabbed her utility belt, field kit, medical kit, and tricorder along with her phaser; just in case. Everything clipped to the utility belt and the weapon she slid in her pocket even though there was a place for it on her belt. Lastly Cass replicated two bottles of water which slid into pouches on the belt with one on each hip.....now she was ready to go.

{Shuttle Bay 5}

Lieutenant Zolon entered Bay 5 with Lt. Hunt already there waiting for her. After giving the Pilot the coordinates they stepped into the Shuttle. Looking at Armen "You ready" she asked. "Anytime you are" he replied with a grin. "Let's go" and the Shuttle left the Ship and headed for the Planet.

{Midora III}

They landed just outside of the town area both noticing just how warm the surface was.

"Let's get samples of soil, rock, and water to take back to the Ship; we'll leave the plants and flora collection to Ensign Ocha he'll probably come down tomorrow since today he has the day off" Zolon explained.

"Sounds good Boss; I'll get the rock samples" Armen answered as the two started off looking around for samples to collect.

After about ten minutes of walking Cass noticed Armen stopping and bending over with his hands on his knees "This damn thin air and I don't mix well" he stated.

Zolon was a little surprised at his reaction to being here "Lieutenant if you want to return to the Ship please feel free....I can get the samples if this place is giving you issues" she replied being a little concerned.

Hunt looked up and grinned "No I'll be ok in a minute" as he reached into his belt and grabbed a Bio-breather and placed it in his mouth for a few minutes "Ah, that's better. I never leave home without one of these things with me, especially when the air is in question" he stated as he placed it back in his mouth.

The two walked a little further when Hunt stopped and pointed to a rock formation "Here I'll start with these" as he grabbed his rock hammer and set to work.

"Good I'll walk up there and start the soil sampling" Cass replied then moved farther up the trail. Once Cass found a good spot she looked to see what Armen was doing noticing he was hard at work.

Eager to see how the atmosphere would effect her abilities Cass stood and reached out her arm "Dominos" she whispered as she noticed the fire forming ahead of her. It wasn't quite as strong as it normally would be but the thinner air was the problem....fire needed adequate oxygen to burn strongly.

After her curiosity was satisfied Cass unclipped her field kit and set to work collecting all sorts of soil samples while noticing the absence of insects in the soil. That was rather strange but she figured Lab analysis would give her the answer as to why.

Cassandra walked back over to Armen "How's the rock collection coming" she queried.

"Good I just finished, so now what" Hunt replied with a grin.

Checking her Tricorder Cass noticed a stream not too far ahead "Let's go around the bend up there.....there should be a stream we can collect some water samples from" she stated.

"Lead on Boss and I'll follow" Armen replied as he reinserted his Biobreather into his mouth.

After several minutes Cass heard the sound of running water then they saw the stream. She and Armen grabbed some collection bottles and gathered several samples of water in different areas of the stream. Once finished Cass turned to Armen "I think we have everything we need so let's head back to the landing area and wait for our ride back to the Ship."

The two Officers made their way back to the extraction point as Cass tapped her Comm "Amandora this is Lieutenant Zolon, we're ready for a ride back" she stated.

"We'll be there shortly" came the reply.

"Good we'll be waiting" Cass responded. Turning to Hunt "Well I guess we relax and wait. So looks like you have some work to do when we get back" Cass said with a grin.

"No problem....at least that'll give me something constructive to work on for awhile instead of finding things to do" he replied with a chuckle "So how are you finding the Ship."

"I've met all those I need to meet, including most of the Staff....so now it's just settling into a routine....and you since you're new also" she replied with a smile.

"About the same as yourself and I'm looking forward to some real work" Arman stated then paused "I was wondering.....would you like to have dinner with me some night" noticing just how lovely his Boss was.

Cassandra smiled "Why Lieutenant are you asking me out on a date" she queried.

After a moment of thought "Ah...ya....I guess I am; so what do you say" Armen commented not sure what the answer would be.

"Normally I refrain from dating those who work for me" then she paused "But since we're both new to the Ship I'll make an exception....sure why not" she replied with a grin.

"Hot damn.....sorry Lieutenant.....I meant to say that would be nice and I'll let you know when.....if that's acceptable to you that is" Hunt replied being a little nervous and feeling like a schoolboy again.

Cass laughed "Yes that's fine Armen" she replied "Oh look our ride is here". So the two Officers boarded the Shuttle with all their findings and were off for the Ship.

Zolon sat as she thought about the invitation to dinner "This should be interesting."
