Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Bridge
Timeline: current
ON:
While down on MIdora III, Ro decided to check the ship's logs for Amandora. To keep herself up to date on current events. Upon reading them her eyes went wide. Shortly after the engineers arrived to build the waterfall hydroplant, another transport had shown up, a Starfleet transport, removing Thoros, Dorox and Suvak from Amandora's personnel. All three had personal matter to attend to and were leaving to see to them. Green almost punched a hole in the console what with the timing. Informing Dwight that she needed to return to the ship for a while to see to matters involving the XO, she promised to return as soon as possible to take part in the underwater explorations. Lifting off she headed for orbit and once there she put the runabout on auto-pilot alongside Amandora, matching course and speed. Standing up she went to the two-person transporter on the Bridge of Euphrates and almost said energize before realizing she was still naked. Giggling to herself Green took up her neon green bikini and slipped it on, the elastic Underarmor style easy to do so with. Sandals on her feet she took her combadge and attached it to one of the straps for the top, since getting dressed in her uniform would take time. Now dressed, more or less, she stepped back into the transporter. "Computer, one to beam directly to Amandora Bridge." Within seconds she was whisked across space and planted on the Bridge of her starship.
"Wow!", said one male voice, followed by another saying "Holy smokes!", upon seeing Commander Green materialize in a neon Green bikini that showed a lot of skin, as bikinis were meant to. A lone female voice also sounded off somewhere among them. "Must be nice down there."
With cheeks flushing a bit Green saw Cyndi sitting in her command chair, an eyebrow raised at the sight of her Number One. "Apologies, Commodore, for my attire. I was in the middle of a research project when I decided to read the logs. I saw we lost three key officers and felt we needed to discuss it." She did not miss the eyes of a few males looking her form up and down, but chose to ignore it since she had brought it upon herself.
Cyndi nodded "Let's take this to my quarters, Paul is still on the surface assisting with the waterfall project."
Green nodded at Cyndi, noticing Marcus off to one side. "Resch, you're with us. Let's go." On the way to the lift Ro tapped her badge. "Green to Kirk, meet us at the Commodore's quarters. Out." She tapped it off as she entered the lift.
Cyndi stepped into the lift just ahead of Resch "Deck two,"
As they arrived on deck two, and stepped out to head for the Commodore's quarters, Kirk showed up a few moments later, as soon as her lift car could move into place to deliver her to the deck. They all followed Cyndi into her private sanctum. Green immediately went to the replicator and tapped in her clothing parameters, creating a Starfleet jogging suit and began to put it on as the Commodore began the conversation.
"Please help yourselves to something to drink and we'll begin,"Cyndi said as she got herself something to drink before taking a seat "Ro that bikini looked so comfortable."
"Yeah, it did," Resch popped out, then caught himself. "Shit, sorry."
Everyone gave a grin at his honest assessment of his scantily clad XO. They all got beverages of their own kind and then stood around, the two lowest ranks waiting to see what this was about. Kirk gave a wink to Green. "Ro, if that bikini is any indication of what the planet is like, I need to get down there."
"Naked bodies everywhere," said Green, around her thermomug of hot apple cider. But, so that was left hanging with no response time allowed, she went on to other things. "We have a problem. Several of our staff officers, and a few others, have left the ship for personal reasons. It leaves big dents in the manifest. Dents the Commodore and I need to correct with what we have right now." She looked to her CO. "Cyndi, I will list myself as CEO, for now. As XO it is my responsibility to fill holes when there is no chief. And, I am a certified engineer. Are you okay with that?"
Kirk and Resch looked at each other in surprise at the news, then their eyes went back to the two big kahunas.
"I'm good with that, and yes the planet is wonderful, I spent three days there in shorts halter tops. The chief helm officer has left us as well. Lieutenant Kirk your qualified would you like to take over at helm until further notice," Cyndi asked.
"Absolutely, Commodore." Kirk responded. "Strategic Operations leaves a lot of empty time so it will work well for me. Thank you for the consideration."
Green waited until Jim was done speaking and looked at Marcus. "Mister Resch, you are the boatswain on board, denoting your qualifications in Operations. I would like to elevate you to Assistant Operations Manager, which would make you the acting Chief of the department. We have to fill the slot since we know not whether Thoros will return, or not. Can you handle that?"
Resch was ecstatic. "Yes, Commander, I can."
"Good," said Green. "The positions are temporary, for now, until we see if we get more personnel to take them over again. As the Assistant, Resch, you'd be fine if we got another chief."
Both junior officers nodded at that.
"Then that's settled, Cyndi said "They picked a bad time to leave but at least we're not at alert and are in orbit. That's the only good thing with this."
Green took a swallow of apple cider, before adding. "Bloody bad timing. Took time away from my man."
Kirk gave her a look of confusion. "Your man?"
"Yeah. Governor Dwight Bachman. We made a connection...several times, I might add, before we just kinda fell into being an official item." Green could not help but smile as she admitted her new relationship to the people she trusted. Happiness was written all over her face.
"Your glowing commander, I'm happy for you, will he be leaving the planet or how are you going to handle this? Please tell me your not going to leave me," Cyndi said realizing what she'd just heard.
"No, Cyndi, not my plan. Whether he comes along with us is up to him, but either way, I am faithful to him. And, I feel the same from him. We have yet to discuss it. Also," her eyes glanced around at them all, readying herself for the next admission. "I need to let you know as my CO, and as my friends, that I am pregnant." She waited for that to sink in and prepared herself for the incoming plethora of questions.
Kirk spat out, "What?!" But, that was it.
Resch had been mid-sip with his beverage and he coughed and spewed a bit as he heard what she said, grabbing a towel from the replicator while listening further.
Cyndi had been about to take a drink, her glass stopped midway to her lips, setting the glass down she got to her feet and walked over to Ro and hugged her "Congratulations Ro! I'm happy for you. You as you know will need to get with Doctor Long. Your going to be a great mother."
"Seeing Kris is a priority, Cyndi, as soon as I get back from a little submarine excursion on the planet. And, thank you, I hope I am. They deserve it."
"They?" Kirk asked. "As in more than one?"
"Yes, Jim. I am carrying twins, a boy and a girl. The Force has aided me in cheating a bit on gender." Ro gave them all a happy smile.
"Well, as the Commodore said, Ro. Congratulations," said Resch, raising his cup in a salute. But, being who he was he had to add. "Seems the Commodore was right, that bikini was comfortable after all, for you and someone else." He and Kirk both had to work not to giggle at his cheeky comment.
"It's a good thing you didn't see me in a coconut bra and grass skirt," Cyndi giggled "Ro this is good news, you've waited a long time to become a mother and I can't be happier for you."
"Thank you. But, for now, can we please keep this between us. I'll let it be known after I see Doctor Long. Can you guys do that for me?" Ro looked at her friends and shipmates.
Kirk gave a nod. "Not my place to reveal your condition, Ro. That's on you."
Resch gave another cup salute. "The secret is safe with me, Commander."
"It's your news to tell so don't worry, I won't even tell Paul. You enjoy this time and inform the crew when your ready," Cyndi said.
Glad that everyone agreed to keep her secret for now, Green and the rest broke up and went their separate ways. Ro beamed back to the Euphrates and then headed back down to the surface. She was on her ear to get underway with the submersible mission. It would be quite a revelation to see the bottom of the ocean on Midora III.
