Post Number 163 Scanning The MidoraIII Moon

Mission:
BUGS OH NO!!
Location: Medial Shuttle,Planet Suface and Amandora
Timeline: Current
ON:
Kristian had spent several days on the planet checking over the people who lived there and found them all in good health. But then it was fresh air, plenty of sunshine and exercise. Tara was busy with the Amazons and several of the Amandora’s engineers getting the waterfall power supply set up. Packing up the medical things she’d brought Kristian carried them to the shuttle and stowed them away.
Once that was done she walked from the shuttle to find her cousin leaning against it “I’m surprised to see you, I figured you’d be busy with the waterfall and the power source,”Kristian said
Tara smiled “It’s done, didn’t take as long as I thought it would. It’s up and running, I’m going to need to talk to the mayor and I’m not looking forward to it. He and I didn’t exactly hit it off when I approached him with this idea,”
“So I heard, I also heard that you’re not going to offer this anymore. That’s a shame as it’s an endless supply of power for places like this,” Kristian commented.
Tara shrugged “It’s okay, I’m not going to stress over it. So do you feel like going to the moon? No one has been to it and I’d like to take a look at it and see what if anything is there. Alesha is out with her fighter after spending some time helping as well and just enjoying the planet too. I’m ready for some science stuff before I talk to Bachman.”
Kristian looked up at the moon that was visible even in the bright sky and then back to her cousin “Why not, we can run scans and see it supports life.”
“Let’s do it then,” Tara said as she picked up her equipment and followed Kristian onto the shuttle and took the co-pilots seat and ran the flight check while Kristian close the ramp and secured it and then joined her cousin in the cockpit. “Flight check is done, all systems are a go, weapons are charged not that we’re going to need them.”
“True,” Kristian agreed as she fired the shuttles engines and lifted off while Tara switched on the sensors as they headed into space and in minutes were on approach for the moon.
“Do a low orbit so I can scan it and see what is down there before we land,” Tara said
Kristian nodded while Tara ran the scans on the moon “It does support life but don’t land. There are big animals there and there are beings there, like our moon on Amzock it’s in the very early stages of developing and if we land and are seen it will upset things there. This moon should be left to develop on it’s own.” Tara commented as she brought several images onto the viewers along “I don’t know what to make of those animals one thing I do know is they’re not dinosaurs, but they are something I’ve never seen and it’s too bad too as I’d like to build a blind and go study them and the beings are not human, the remind me of large flying monkeys with a gargoyle type face and the tails are pointed like a dragon. Plenty of vegetation for them to feed on and I get the feeling from what I’m seeing that they prey on each other.”
“They look scary enough, and sadly there is no way we’d dare land, there are only two crafts that could land there and one being the West Wind as it will cloak and can land and the other is Alesha’s viper. But to put the West Wind down it’s an eight hour turn around and a swipe by any of those beings or animals would prove disastrous for either craft. Tell the governor what we’ve found and let him make the call,” Kristian commented “I’ll orbit for a few minutes so you can run your scans and even beam up some samples of things if you want me to.”
“I don’t thing we should beam anything up, the air while breathable it’s a high level of oxygen content boardering on a toxic level,” Tara said as she ran full sensors on the moon.”
Finally after nearly two hours of scans Tara nodded and switched off the sensors “We can go to the ship now I have a lot to look at,”
“Amandora it is,” Kristian said as she pulled away from the moon and headed for the Amandora, the West Wind had pulled out now that their part was done. Kristian landed the shuttle in the shuttle bay and shut things down. “Let’s meet later if out schedules permit it.”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Tara agreed as she got to her feet, picked up her field kits and Kristian did the same, the ramp dropped and the two cousins walked from the shuttle each going her own way. Tara need to talk to Bachman but was not looking forward to the meeting and decided to take her cousin along. First stop was her lab where she stored her kits for later checks then her quarters for a hot shower and a fresh uniform since she’d been in short, halter tops and bare feet which had drawn looks as she passed some of the crew.
Kristian stopped by sick bay to check in and inform the bridge she and Herculoid were back aboard and then she too headed for her quarters.
