Two foes sat at a table playing a round of cards. Ltjg Kordell of Qo'nos and Master Sergeant Dallas had been having these matches for weeks.
" You cheat grunt." yelled Kordell.
" No I didn't I drew this card giving me the winning hand. Loser." Dallas yelled back.
" Bull..." Kordell went to reply but didn't as he spied a beautiful young female walk into the 10 forward lounge.
" Hubba hubba now that is a celestial body," Dallas stated.
" She's out of your league grunt. If you will excuse me ." Kordell replied as he stood up from the table.
Christina hadn't spent much time amongst the crew in a social sense as yet so she decided she would do just that. Getting herself a drink she took a seat at a table.
" Hello I am Kordell Security and Tactical officer. You are very pretty ... would you like to hear some Klingon poetry?" he introduced.
Christina opened her mouth to speak but wasn’t quite sure how to respond.
Master Sergeant Dallas jumped in mainly to be a pest.
" Forgive its manner we haven't house broken it yet. Master Sergeant John Dallas at your service my dear."
Chrissy smiled. “It’s nice to meet you ... both of you.” She offered Kordell a polite smile. “I would be interested in the poetry, I’m a teacher so I’m always willing to learn.”
Kordell laughed. Dallas did not give him credence.
" Next thing you know he will tell you Shakespeare was Klingon. Ok kids some of us have real security to do. Bye." Dallas replied.
Dallas walked away but Kordell remained. His intentions were honorable as he really found this human attractive.
" It may be the synthol or boldness, may I join you or is this seat taken?" He uncharacteristically asked.
Christina smiled warmly, “It’s quite free please feel free to sit.” She looked at Kordell curiously Klingons rarely bothered with non Klingon females yet Kordell seemed interested enough. “Forgive me but I didn’t think Klingons found Human women all that interesting.”
" Normally no. I spied you from the moment you boarded and thought you were either a security risk or the most beautiful human I have ever seen. You do not even smell like a human. What is that fragrance?" Kordell replied.
“It’s from Betazed, it was given to me as a present.” Chrissy smiled. “It’s made from Uttaberries, they’re very fragrant and edible in their own right. So ... tell me about you Kordell, you don’t seem like other Klingons.”
" I am the son of Kurell. I have a former spouse but we are no longer together. What humans call split up. A very long story... My career is my life... Are you Betazoid?" he replied and asked.
“Actually no, I’m just a plain old Human.” Chrissy grinned. “I have to admit I’d love to know what it’s like to be Betazoid, how they cope with those abilities they have is beyond me.”
" Betazoids judge others based on emotional outburst. Klingons do to but we do to see if you are worthy to die for your passion." Kordell replied.
“Ahh I see” Chrissy nodded. “I’m all for passion, as for dying for passion it would depend on what I was passionately dying for!” She grinned a wry grin.
" For honor." replied Kordell
“Of course, a very worthy cause.” Chrissy smiled warmly. “So what brings you here aboard a Federation ship instead of a Klingon one?”
" I joined Star Fleet. On DS9 I met Worf, the legendary warrior who killed Duras the traitor. Security became my passion." Kordell replied.
"It sounds an honourable course of action for you." Chrissy smiled warmly. "I'd like a chance to get to know more about you."
" I would like you to but next time we talk about you. One question though. What is your name or nickname?"
“I’m Christina Monroe, but my friends call me Chrissy.” She smiled warmly. “I’m a teacher and nanny for the Raymond family.”
" Teacher and Nanny? My father once tought at the Klingon Military Academy. He was dismissed by Gowron himself. They moved to DS9 after that. Chrissy? Chris...sy, it has a ring to it. Chrissy what is you drink of choice?" Kordell asked.
“Good question!” She grinned. “I don’t tend to drink that much but I have tried blood wine once before. I only drink on special occasions speaking of which, I have a bottle of blood wine in my quarters that I’ve been holding onto for a while. Would you consider sharing it with me?”
" Blood wine? Do you cook gagh too ? If so I am moving in?" he joked.
Chrissy grinned as she stood up. "As a matter of fact I do! I like to learn new things and cookery happens to be one of those things. It's about the only Klingon dish I do know though."
" I also cook. Learned some Bajoran dishes actually. Pitiful people but they have the heart of warriors. Their prophets have not been kind to them. Is it to forward to ask for another date, sometime?" Kordell asked.
“Of course it isn’t but we’re not finished here yet.” She smiled as they walked together. “I promised you a blood wine and a blood wine you will have!”
Kordell tightened up. As a male and other wise Chrissy had pushed his buttons with the blood wine.
" Let us go then."
“That’s where we’re heading.” Chrissy smiled warmly.
It didn’t take long before they were both seated in Christina’s quarters, a bottle of blood wine on the table and two glasses sitting almost empty beside it. “Would you like another?” Chrissy grinned as she picked up the bottle and offered a top up.
" Yes as much as you will pour. Do you play cards?" Kordell asked.
Chrissy nodded and topped up both their glasses. “What would you like to play? What will we play for?” She wasn’t normally brash but the blood wine was doing away with her inhibitions nicely. “How’s about strip poker?”
" Stip poker sounds Glorious. Qapla" Kordell smiled.
