After meeting with the XO, Porter pulled up Lieutenant Foster's service history. There wasn't a ton in there since he was only at his previous post for a short time. However, in the short time he's been an officer, his board shows that he's a hard worker and quick learner. Also, it's not like there's a full battalion of Marines aboard the ship, so he should have an easier time sliding in as the acting Marine CO.

=/\= "Porter to Lieutenant Foster," =/\= Jackson said tapping his combadge.

=/\= "Foster here, go ahead, sir," =/\= came the response.

=/\= "Can you please come see my in my office?" =/\=

=/\= "Yes, sir, on my way." =/\=

=/\= "Good. Porter out." =/\= Jackson closed the line and waited for Foster to arrive. When he did, Porter gestured for him to take a seat. "Thanks for coming so quickly, Foster. I'll get right to it. I just spoke with Commander Raymond and the Marine detachment is in need of an acting XO, and Commander Raymond has selected you for the posting. Congratulations!"

Foster was surprised by the news. "What? Really? Wow, that's awesome!"

"Indeed it is," Porter replied. "Your transfer is immediate. You won't have to change quarters, so that will make things easier." Porter picked up a PADD with Foster's transfer information. "Here are your new orders." Standing up and handing the PADD over, Porter shook Foster's hand. "Good luck, lieutenant. I hope you learn a lot from your experience, and I do expect you back once the situation is taken care of."

Foster took the PADD and reciprocated the hand shake. "Thank you, sir. I...I still don't know what to say, but I won't let you down!"

"I know you won't. Dismissed, lieutenant."

Foster spun around and headed out of Porter's office, heading up to the Marine Detachment and his new temporary office.
