Post Number 15 Dinner Between Friends

Cyndi had promised to meet Hank for dinner, the shock of the promotion still fresh in her mind as she walked into ten forward. Spotting Hank seated next to a window in the back of the room. Cyndi walked over and took a seat across from him but still in a position to see what was going on.

“So has the shock worn off yet Cyndi?” Hank asked

“Not really,: Cyndi responded as she placed her order “When I took this command you told me to try it and if I really didn’t like it or want it you’d let me return to teaching. Then you come onto my ship and surprise me with a promotion to commodore knowing that just took me out of the classroom for good.”

“Cyndi you’re far too qualified to be teaching in a classroom, you’re a hell of a teacher and many science officers have benefited from you. But I wanted you out here in space. Keeping you at Starfleet Academy was holding you back and I didn’t want that for you,” Hank said “I need you and when I brief your senior staff on your next orders you’ll understand more of why I did this. I’m asking you to trust me.”

“You know I trust you,” Cyndi answered as their meals were delivered

“Then relax and trust me. And after dinner how about you give me a tour of your ship?” Hank asked

“That would be my pleasure,” Cyndi said
