"Dare to tame me
Nothing can hold back my rage
Dare to tame me
You can't fool the faithless
Dare to tame me
Fear the man who lost it all
Once so frail and meek
He'll unveil what's rotten to the core"
Onak was headbanging furiously to one of his newfound loves, Earth heavy metal music. He was particularly fond of Irish and Scottish folk music as a poetic artform and when he heard those married to heavy metal he was hooked. (edited)
The computer had to interrupt his ritual as he was receiving a message from the bridge.
=^= "Lt. Onak, we are approaching the Amandora. We will arrive in approximately 20 minutes. Report to transporter room 5 when prompted. Good luck with your new assignment." =^=
"Understood. Thank you, and thank Captain Jellicoe for me. He has a fine ship."
=^= "Aye sir. Bridge out." =^=
"Computer, resume music program."
The harsh guitar, thrumming bass and shrill bagpipes blared from the speakers once again but Onak set about getting instead of resuming thrashing about. He was anxious to go aboard the Amandora and meeting the Commodore and getting the skinny on the mystery that was afoot.
"Who'll breach the gates
Free your mind
A scar for every day
Wishing to get out"
When he was ready, he switched off the music and headed for the transporter room.
He enjoyed the looks he got as he travelled through the corridors. Most had seen Klingons up close but the few that had not seemed to shrink into the walls as if he would bite them...or worse.
Once in transporter room 5 he notified the bridge that he was ready.
=^= "Contacting the Amandora now sir. Stand by." =^=

When the Vermont was in range and the proper procedures were observed, the transporter operator motioned him toward the pads. "Please step onto the platform sir. They're ready for you." the woman said.
"Thank you...Ensign?." Onak asked and took his place. (edited)
"She woman smiled. "MacGyver sir."
"Thank you Ensign MacGyver."
It was clear Ensign MacGyver was pleased at his personal touch. A smile crossed her face as she said "Energizing!"
Onak stood still as the transporter room evolved into kaleidoscopic vision then darkness and back to kaleidoscopic vision until the transporter room was back in view, but different. It was unsettling for a brief second.
"Permission to come aboard." he stated firmly.
Cyndi had heard there was a new officer who had just beamed aboard, leaving Ro in command made her way to the transporter room just in time to hear the request to come aboard. The officer manning the transporter snapped to attention when Cyndi walked in and stood in front of the console "I'm Commodore Song permission granted lieutenant."
"Thank you Commodore. Lieutenant Onak reporting for duty Sir!" he said a bit too enthusiastically.
"Welcome aboard lieutenant, we can continue this in my ready room," Cyndi said
Onak nodded. "Very good sir."
As they made their way into the corridor on their way tot he turbolift, Onak got right down to business. "I understand you have a mystery of sorts on your hands Commodore. I would like to analyze the tactical situation as soon as possible. I know from my mission prep that you have a most capable crew, but as the old adage goes, more sets of eyes make for a more complete view." He studied her face as she contemplated what he had said. He knew form his research that she was definitely one to use every tool at her disposal in a given situation. He hoped he hadn't spoken out of turn. It would be bad form to insult the Commodore on the first day.
"Mystery would be an understatement, as you saw when you arrived there is a star base and three docked ships. We were dispatched here to find out what happened to the crews, officers and civilians on all of them. So far all we've found out is some ant like beings have for reasons we yet to know have taken the people off all three ships and the base. I have skeleton crews over on them to man things. Recently I received a report from my husband, Admiral Sanderson who came out of retirement to help on this that several children were found hiding on the base," Cyndi replied as the lift stopped on the bridge. She led the way into her ready room and motioned for him to take a seat. She walked around and took a seat at her desk "That's the short version."
Onak took his seat and rubbed his bearded chin. "Hmmmm, curious. These 'ant like' creatures...have you been able to communicate with them? And if so, what have you learned?" Commodore Song slid a PADD across the desk toward him.
"Lieutenant Herculoid who is not only the assistant science chief but she's also the chief diplomatic officer is over there. She has a way to pick up languages and if anyone can communicate with them it will be her. She holds a minor degree in communications," Cyndi commented
Onak nodded. "That is definitely helpful." He scrolled through the PADD for a moment." He suddenly realized he was ignoring the Commodore. "Apologies. Do you mind Sir?" She indicated with a hand gesture that it was fine. "I commend you Sir. This analysis is most comprehensive." He looked up from the PADD.
"Your crew seems to have it surrounded at the moment. May I request a few hours to grab some sleep and secure my belongings? I am ready for duty right now if you so order though. My blade is at your disposal."
"By all means, your logged in and listed as active," Cyndi said handing him his quarter assignment "Get some rest, get used to the ship and we'll go from there."
"Thank you Sir." Onak stood and handed the PADD back to her. " Just want to add that what I did aboard the Bloodwing will not be repeated here. I will operate strictly according to Starfleet protocols."
Cyndi stood as well "I'm glad to hear that and no it will not leave this room. Commander Green, my XO may see it but no one else will. Get some rest its been a long flight out here. And Welcome aboard again."
"Thank you Sir." he said and spun on his heel and exited the ready room, satisfied.
