"Qeritas!" Rogue shouted this as she looked up at the ceiling in her quarters, calling out to the Q woman who called herself Qeritas. "I know you can hear me," she said ina more reasonable voice. "Don't be a coward."
"Tsk-tsk-tsk," came from behind Ro, causing her to spin around and face the ever-gorgeous Q. "I have been called many things, Champion, but coward is not one of them. Take care how you address me."
"Oh, please," said Ro, the cynicism not hidden. "But, beyond your own narcissistic needs, we need to talk."
"About," asked Qeritas.
"This whole 'Force' thing," stated Green. "After my changes in that Reman pod those many years ago, I developed a similar power, which I called the Core. As in, the Core energy of the Universe. You, however, have me splitting time between this galaxy and some other one where that power is called the Force, and you granted us strange weapons from that galaxy. I don't want it anymore. Any of it! The Core is mine, not yours to play with. It was granted to me through the tribulations I suffered. As for those damn lightsabers, get rid of them, and any knowledge of them from the Milky Way. They don't belong here, and in time we will develop our own special weaponry. The Meji Order is for this galaxy, by this galaxy, not that other one where war and conflict are a constant part of daily life."
Qeritas had stood quietly and listened, seeing that Ro had finally grown into her own. This was exactly what she had been waiting for. When the sabers were first presented Green had jumped at the chance to have something no one else in this galaxy had. Now, she was opposed to outside influence, realizing this galaxy would unfold as it should, in its own way. "You don't know how glad I am to hear you say that. It has taken quite some time for you to open your eyes, and spirit. You are right, your power is The Core. I interfered when I should have left well enough alone." She raised her right hand and snapped her fingers. Ro saw the hilt of her saber, sitting upon her coffee table, vanish from sight. "There. What about Cosmo? He is tech knowledge from over there."
"He is robotics and AI," said Ro. "At some point here in Milky Way, someone could have developed him. I don't mind the galaxy hopping, but the Core is the Core, not this Force you coerced me into giving in to."
"I saw you building armor," stated Qeritas, with a knowing grin. "The Mandalorians are exceptional, in any galaxy. Species, gender, none of it matters. All who are accepted are Mandalorians. I take it that your Meji will now be more like that than the Jedi I showed you?"
"You see it correctly." Green could not help but grin in return. "Thank you, Qeritas. I mean that. What we develop is what will be, not technology from some far flung place we will never visit, barring anything we could actually develop on our own."
The two sat down, and like long, lost friends discussed a great many things. Rogue Green was content and happy, to be herself again without the odd influences brought upon her by Q. She knew that Qeritas had had her best interests at heart, but it was still not of this galaxy; Ro's world.
