Mission: Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Various
Timeline: Current

ON:

Karina was casually walking down the corridors, trying to find her quarters. Everything is so massive, she was surprised by the mere size of it. The Galaxy she thought they would have retired out by now, especially in favor of the Ross class this is just an upgrade version of the Galaxy. She kept going down the corridors trying to avoid running into people when she came across a very tall woman. She barely missed running into her. "Pardon me, I'm a little lost. I did not mean to almost hit you." Karina suggested to the tall woman.

Tara offered a smile "Your fine I'm Tara Herculoid the assistant science chief and I'm the diplomatic chief. You must be new. Can I help you find something?"

"You know I did study the blueprints, but walking down these corridors how does anybody find their way?" Karina asked rhetorically. She then proceeded to hand Tara a pad. "I'm trying to find these quarters, they've been assigned to me." She said hoping that Tara would help her.

Taking the PADD Tara read the location "Your one deck down, then four doors on the Starboard Side. I can show you if you like and a little known thing on these Galaxy Class is all you have to do is ask the computer and a red light along the wall will guide you. But I'd be more than happy to show you."

"If You would not mind. I hate asking the computer for any favors, I know that's on me but it's just annoying to ask a computer how to get somewhere. I was hoping to find it on my own. I'm thought for sure I was on the right deck though." Kalina said wondering how she got up one deck without even realizing it.

"It happens, I've done it myself a few times. You'll get used to things," Tara said "What position aboard do you hold?"

"Chief Control Flight Officer or more commonly referred to as Chief Helmsman." Kalina said appreciating the warm gesture about getting lost on a ship this big. She needed to let her foolish pride go, and accept the fact that sometimes these things just happen.

"I'm certified to pilot shuttles, but not the ship. Not that I can't learn and maybe some day I will, you'll do fine and I'm looking forward to serving with you," Tara said "Right now I'm content being the assistant science chief and the chief diplomatic officer." They walked to the lift and Tara called for the lift. "What helped me figure out this ship is I hung a small ribbon on the bulkhead across from the lift on my deck. Most of the crew will see it and understand someone new is aboard and not bother it. Or you can call up the deck layout on the computer and study it. I confess I did both."

"You're a pilot? What are you doing in an assistant role?" Kalina after little surprise. She was trying to think there's a fight with anyone want to give up being a pilot, if you know at some point she would have to but she would have to solve that problem today. Eventually she'd want to go into a command position but that was a few years down the road, for the moment she just wanted to enjoy this time in her life.

"I can fly shuttles, I'm not out to take anyone's position. Nor do I want to. I love science and I'm diplomatic chief. I'm content there," Tara said smiling.

"I feel there is a story in there. A girl who started off as a pilot and now she finds herself in the sciences and diplomacy. I love a good story." Kalina suggested to her with a grin, as they continued to head to her quarters.

"On my planet we learn to fly young and the reason I'm in science is because I was in my room back home and mixed up something and blew a hole in the roof. Diplomacy came a few months ago aboard ship. Commander Green felt it would be a good thing for me to try," Tara commented.

"Oh I see." Kalina said. She just gave a warm smile. You can't just wondering why would anyone want to go into the sciences? To hear, it was boring l
And worse of all, she would always have to second guess herself. She did not see the appeal in it.

"Here's your quarters, I hope I was able to help you," Tara said returning the smile.

"Sorry if that got a little weird a second ago, just not really into science so it bothers my mind that others would be but then again I know we're all different, so I hope you don't think less of me." Kalina swaid with the nervous smile.

"Not at all, I love science always have. We each have our interests and my main interest is science," Tara said.

As both ladies continue down the corridors a young and attractive blonde looking man walk past them. Kalina didn't know it at the time but it was Lieutenant Junior Grade David Montgomery the new chief operations officer. He seem to be in a hurry, but it didn't stop her from giving him a quick look over. After she was certain he left she looked over to Tara and smiled as she said. "Who is that? He's kind of cute." Kalina told Tara, hoping she might know. She had no idea that he just boarded the ship as well.

"I have no idea, I've never seen him before. He's cute, probably married with a bunch of kids. The cute ones are," Tara said watching the young officer walk off.

"I didn't see any kids, unless you're thinking the deadbeat and has a bunch of kids on different starships?" Kalina asked, hoping Tara would clarify. Kalina was taken by his good looks.

"I didn't see any kids either but that does not mean he doesn't have a wife and kids in his quarters," Tara commented "Damn he's cute, but who am I kidding, I'm a scientist and most men don't go for scientists. Have you met the commodore yet?"

"Sounds like you're trying to scare me off, if you're interested in him I can back off." Clean ahead with the warm smile, in her eyes are plenty of fish in the sea. She was praying into the shift he didn't want to start off any animosity with anyone, so if Tara was interested she was okay with finding another guy.

"Like I said he could be married and if not when most men find out I'm a scientist they tend to shy away. It's fine," Tara said as she checked the PADD and stopped in front of a door "I believe these are your quarters,"

"Ma'am don't sell yourself short. You should pursue him. I'll help you, all we got to get you guys set up on a date." Kalina then realizing that Tara needed a good friend right now someone to help motivate her. They both walked into her quarters l. They were sufficient. More spacious than she had anticipated.

"Ma'am makes me feel old. Please call me Tara," Tara said.

"Okay Tara, my message is still the same. Don't sell yourself short. I'm going to help you. That boy won't know what hit him." Kalina suggested to Tara. She had a feeling under her care, Tara was going to shine and blossom to be a wonderful person.

"How will you help me?" Tara asked "Perhaps I need to be out of the lab and the diplomatic office more and do more mingling. I have two friends aboard from my home planet and we hang out a lot when our schedules permit it."

"It's very easy to get yourself locked into your work if you're trying to avoid unpleasantries. I'm not sure why, but for some reason you seem to think you're not good enough for that gorgeous hunk of a man that just walked by us." Kalina pointed out to Tara.

"He is cute," Tara admitted "There was someone on another ship I was interested in, but when he found out I was a scientist he couldn't get away from me fast enough. He muttered something about science geeks not being worth of a relationship. That we're better off playing with our test tubes. It took a long time to get over that as I thought he liked me."

"It's time for you to get back on that horse, you got this. I know you can and heck it's just a date, I'm not expecting you to fall in love overnight." Kalina said it teasing voice. She felt that she was getting Tara out of her shell, this was a good thing she believed.

"Perhaps, and no I don't expect to fall in love overnight. It takes time. I guess it can't hurt to give it a try," Tara agreed

"Perfect I'll make the introduction for you, unless you want to do it?" Kalina said with the big warm smile, she's going to make sure that Tara is happy in life. She believed deep in a heart that you can't just live inside your bubble the whole time and not live life.

"Before anything is done or introduced we have to find out if he's married or seeing someone," Tara said.

"I'm pretty sure if he had a girl, she would be all over him keeping the rest of us at arm's length." Kalina said, thinking to herself that she would be a good Matchmaker for Tara. She'll find somebody for her.

"Perhaps your right. But in any case I'll leave you to get settled. Let's meet later in the lounge," Tara said hoping she'd made a friend.

"I'd like that, let's say 2000 hours? Still early up in the night to get a decent amount of sleep and early enough to avoid the big party crowds." Kalina said knowing that if they waited for the party crazy it all will be three sheets to the wind and probably wake up in some random guys room.

"Sounds fun, I'll see you then," Tara said

End ?

OOC: I don't want to hurt Sammi and the two o you write well together. I can make up an NPC that way you two can write and I can have Tara find a boyfriend and go from there.
