Cyndi after reading the missive and request for time away for a death from her second officer and the request from the science chief that she was needed on her home world left the only other person aboard to handle scence again and that was Tara. Both requests had been granted. Cyndi closed her computer and after finding out where Tara was headed for the science department. Seeing Tara over in a corner speaking to one of the science personal walked over to see her. “Lieutenant do you have a minute?”

“For you, yes commodore,” Tara said turning to her officer “See to this and make sure you have a report on the chief’s desk by the end of the day.” Seeing the nod Tara turned back to Cyndi “It’s good to see you in the lab again, it’s been too long but I sense there’s a different reason for this. Let’s talk in my office.”

Cyndi followed Tara into her office and took a seat and waited for Tara to have a seat “ I need you to take science chief slot for a short time. Lieutenant Zolon has been called to her home planet to assist the Priestess in something. The two of us are the l ones aboard who understands how urgent that kind of call can be.”

Tara nodded “I do, I’ll hold the fort down until she returns. Any idea how long she’ll be gone?”

“No idea and she’s not the only one, Commander O’Connell had a death he’s gone as well,” Cyndi said “Paul’s command rated and active again so he can step in to second officer, that is if he can take orders from me,”

“You two work well together, you’ll do fine Cyndi,” Tara replied “I’ll let the science people know and don’t worry about things.”

Cyndi stood “I knew I could count on you. Good luck on that sleeper ship and keep me posted. With that Cyndi headed out.
