Mission: Wedding Blues And Trouble
Location: Gym
Timeline: Current

ON:

Kalina made it back down from her quarters and grabbed a workout outfit and a pad. She noticed on her deck there was a small little gym area it looked like a good place to do some yoga. As she walked in she looked around, and noticed that the room was not in use. "Computer lights." Kalina called out. She walked to the back of the room where there was a full size mirror that went across the whole entire room, and she placed her bag down.

She had a pad in her other arm and started to gently place it on the ground unrolling it. She started think how much she was really going to enjoy this place, even though it was a big ship and she was really hoping to fly a smaller basketball the Galaxy class did have a lot of the open space. She felt like she was living in a micro colony.

David entered the gym and glanced around. He saw a young woman with a mat spread put in front of her.

He wondered what she was going to do but decided it would be rude so he moved to a different error and set up to meditate. He had first gotten into it from a Vulcan roommate. It had helped him to ground himself and have a sense of calmness.

With Tara and Kristian getting ready to go on an away mission, the fighters were currently not needed but could be scrambled in minutes Alesha had changed into workout clothes and headed for the gym. Walking in she spotted the two new crew members already there. After greeting both of them Alesha walked over to the weight bench which was not far from them and set up some weights to bench press.

"TARA." Called out Kalina with a warm smile on her face. Kalina motioned for her to join her. She was very happy to see her again. She had not expected to see her so soon. Kalina expected to have the gym to herself. But she was glad that she did not. She was grateful that others were there.

David nodded but didn’t react. He had come here for meditation and thought the other woman had as well. It looked like a family reunion, the way they greeted each other. He paused for a moment while he contemplated heading elsewhere.

Alesha hearing Tara's name paused her workout to see if she had come into the gym. Not seeing her Alesha figured the woman who had called for Tara must have mistaken her for Tara. Putting the weights back Alesha walked over "Hi, I'm Alesha Rivers, I saw you two at the briefing. Nice to see both of you again." Alesha said warmly

"My apologies in Kalina Johnson." She said if she felt a little embarrassed. There's nothing she could do at the moment, but own it.

"It's all good," Alesha said "No harm done. this is a big ship and you both have met a lot of people since coming aboard." she looked at David "Good to see you again as well."

“You as well.” David said quietly. He looked from one to the other. “David Montgomery. Nice to meet you both.” He had been in the briefing with them but only Kalina had been introduced as new so most didn’t know who he was.

"Have you seen Tara?" Kalina asked, she had no idea that she was prepping for a mission. David was here and she wanted to afford him the opportunity to meet him. The handsome man had a name, and see if she saw Tara she would tell her the name other man is they both thought was pretty handsome.

“I don’t know who she is.” David replied. “I haven’t been here long and introductions have been minimal.” He liked most he had met.

"Tara's a friend of mine, she was at the briefing, last I knew she was in her office getting ready for the away mission," Alesha commented "I'm the wing commander, I'm in charge of the fighters aboard the ship. David what do you do? Things moved so fast in the briefing it was hard to keep up and with it being your first one. I know what Kalina does."

"I am the operations officer." David replied. He had introduced himself to the two women but neither of them had. Was this some weird tradition on this ship?"

Alesha offered her hand "I don't know if I introduced my self or not. Forgive my manners. I'm Alesha Rivers," she said "I'm not sure what Operations does or if it would include the marine decks on the ship."

"Oh that's right. Man I forgot that, I'm supposed to be going on that way mission later but all I have to do is fly a ship." Kalina said with the big grin on her face, feeling a little stupid for forgetting that her friend Tara was going to go on the mission with her in a little bit.

"I will be as well." David acknowledged, shaking her hand. “I am ready to go just waiting to hear the word."

"I'll be staying on the ship. Fighters are not needed," Alesha said dropping her hand.

"Maybe next mission, Ma'am." Kalina said, knowing that not everybody will be able to go on the mission. But she was glad that she was going on it but felt bad that Alesha wasn't.

"Please call me Alesha ma'am sounds so. And I do hope to be on the next mission."

"Does that mean you hope for conflict?" David asked her. "I have always been told that is when marines and fighters are mostly used."

"Conflict is always the last resort. But of course it does depend on what the commodore gets us into. There are only six fighters aboard and should we be needed I can scramble my people and be ready in minutes. From the briefing this does not sound as if we'll be needed," Alesha commented

"Only six, this ship can hold more in the bays." Kalina said, wondering why they were operating with a small amount of fighters. Now that did make sense what she saw in the bay. It was practically bare when she landeded earlier with the Runabout Mississippi.

David listened as she spoke and thought she made a lot of sense. He also thought Kalina was attractive. David steered his eyes back to the other woman to hear what she had to say.

I'm sure the bay can hold more fighters and it's not my call as to how many we have. That's up to Commodore Song, and General Long," Alesha said, "There are several shuttles, work bees, runabouts in the bays as well."

"I'm sure there's a good reason why we have limited fighters on board, maybe the Commodore doesn't want to be a military ship. I can't blame her, now with that said I would love to fly one of the fighters." Kalina said with a big child like grin on her face.

David smiled at her enthusiasm. “You never know, it just might happen.” He could tell it would mean a lot to her.

"Before anyone flies one of my fighters they will have to pass tests in the simulator first," Alesha said

“Your fighters?” David said with a grin. “I am pretty sure those emblems on them make them property of Starfleet.”

"That may be, but I am in charge of the fighter wing aboard ship," Alesha replied "It's my call

It was obvious to David that Aleisha had no sense of humor whatsoever. “I need to go, I have things to do before we leave.” He would go meditate somewhere else.

"I need to get back to the marine deck. It's been good talking to both of you." smiling at both of the Alesha headed out.

"I'll be heading out as well, I got a mission to prepare for." Kalina said feeling like the odd duck out. She could sense that there was some chemistry between Alesha and David and she needed to break the news to Tara. He was an attractive man but she didn't think every girl on the ship would try to go after him. She left the room in a hurry. Find her Tara and stop her from making a fool of herself. Clear the chemistry between Alesha and David. They pretended to be annoyed at each other, but their body language said something else.

“I was already on my way.” David said with a smile. “She left like there was a fire lit under her.” He shook his head. “It was nice meeting you.” And he headed on his way.
