“Commodore you have an incoming message marked classified for your eyes only,” communications spoke up

“Patch it through to my ready room,” Cyndi ordered getting to her feet and headed to her ready room, walking in she stopped just as the door closed and spotted a figure standing at the window looking out. Cyndi drew her phaser and leveled it at the intruder “I don’t know who you are or how you got in here so unless you want to meet your maker I suggest you turn around slowly and keep your hands were I can see them.”

Narla dressed in civilian attire turned from the window and nodded at Cyndi’s phaser that was trained on her “Hello Cyndi, you can put your weapon away. I’m here to talk to you and the fewer who know I’m aboard the better.”

“General, what’s going on?” Cyndi asked pocketing her phaser “Command is of course yours.”

Narla shook her head as she took a seat and indicated Cyndi to take one as well, once Cyndi was seated “I’m not taking command, I’m here to discuss Major Hurd. You and I spoke several months ago about promoting him and I’d like to make that happen but I want to observe first and make a decision.”

“What do you want to know?” Cyndi asked

“I’ve read your reports and he is doing well. It’s time but as I said I want to watch things and get a feel for the marines aboard the ship too. You’ve always had the best and I’m impressed with things.”Narla said “The only way I can do that is to stay in marine country.”

“That can be arranged,” Cyndi replied tapping her com-badge “Captain Rivers please report to my ready room,”


“On the way sir,” Alesha responded as she headed for the bridge and over to Cyndi’s ready room. Hitting the chime she entered once permission was given.

Narla stood and smiled at Alesha “How are you doing?”


“Narla!” Alesha squealed as she rushed over hugged her “Wait, if you’re here, is my parents okay? The King and Queen? Are they okay?”

“Relax Alesha this is official, everyone on Amzock is fine. Have a seat and the commodore and I will fill you in on why I’m here. And no you’re not in trouble,”

“What you’re going to hear cannot leave this room,” Cyndi said “The general is here to promote Major Hurd, she wants to stay on the marine decks and watch and get a feel on how his marines are doing.”

“In order for me to do that since I’m not going to be in uniform as it will draw too much attention I’m going to stay in civilian attire for the time being. I’m going to need a place to stay. So do you want an old general as a roommate?” Narla asked smiling as she knew what Alesha would say

“Of course you can stay with me. It will be good to catch up. It’s too bad Tara and Kristian are off on an away mission they’d love to see you,” Alesha responded

“And they will,” Narla said “Can Cyndi and I trust you to keep my secret?”

“Of course you can,” Alesha replied “But Narla I do have a suggestion and that is so you’ll blend in more why don’t you put on a uniform, you can wear one for the fighter wing or a regular marine one.”
“That Alesha is a good idea,” Narla agreed

Cyndi nodded “You’ll blend in better, why don’t you replicate a uniform and the rank of captain.”

Narla nodded “I agree,” she looked to Alesha “I’ll be a marine but in order not to stick out of place with a higher rank I’ll be content to be a first lieutenant and I’ll be a simple fighter pilot.”

Alesha smiled and got to her feet “I have some questions as well once your settled and I’m sorry for the reaction and not the proper greeting general.”

“I’ll overlook it this time,” Narla said winking “I’d have been disappointed had you not hugged me it’s been a while since I’ve seen you.”

“Before you two go tell me Narla how did you get aboard my ship and into my ready room without being seen?” Cyndi asked getting to her feet”

“You had a shuttle land and I stowed away on it and then it was a simple matter of blending in with your people and made my way to the bridge and into your ready room while you were in the shuttle bay giving your people orders for the mission,” Narla said “I’ve taken up enough of your time Cyndi. I also cannot stress enough that my being here remains between the three of us for now.”

“I assure you Narla no one but the three of us will know you’re here,” Cyndi said

“Thank you, I’ll leave you to your command. Alesha let’s go so I can change.” Narla said as they left Cyndi’s ready room.
