Post Number 7 Setting Things Straight

Cyndi wanting to see how things were going on her new ship had chosen to beam to her quarters, from there she’d wandered the ship for nearly an hour checking things out without drawing attention to herself. Returning to her quarters Cyndi changed into her uniform and headed for the bridge. Stepping onto the bridge a few minutes later Cyndi looked around and nodded.

One of the engineers spotted her and shouted “Captain on the bridge!” thus causing everyone to snap to attention.

“As you were,” Cyndi said turning to the science chief “Lieutenant we need to talk.”

Puzzled Tara nodded and followed Cyndi into her ready room and took a seat once Cyndi was seated “Is there a problem?”

Cyndi leaned back in her seat “That depends on you, I’ve read your file and that is why you’re on my ship. I need a science officer and you’re the best. My concern is, there is a Romulan assigned to this ship and I know all about the issues between your two worlds. I’ also well aware that you’re the one who worked hard to get the treaty between your two worlds. I trust working with her won’t be an issue.”

Tara shook her head “It won’t captain, the issues between Romulus and the Amazons have been resolved several years ago. That’s why I took a leave so I could work on it.”

“I’m glad to hear that,” Cyndi replied “I do know you were not happy over being re-activated.”

“I wasn’t. I was considering resigning and staying on Amzock,” Tara confessed “But Admiral Wilson can be very convincing and I finally gave in and my parents convinced me as well.”

Cyndi nodded “You and I are in a unique position, we’re both heirs to our planets thrones and we’re both only children.”

“We are and should I need to go home I hope you’ll understand.” Tara said

“Trust me I will understand,” Cyndi replied “I’ll let you get back to work and I have a ship to prepare for launch.”

Tara thanked her and headed for the bridge and back to getting the science station set up.
