Post Number 8 MCapt Redex Reporting as ordered

Henry knew he was up for a new assignment, it has been time for almost a week now and nothing has came through the commlink.

He went outside to make his morning mile run and as he put on his headphones and begun his exercise he felt partly at ease, he was visiting his family estate and by now everyone was accustomed to him passing by. As he was on call he always used his badge just in case he got called in abruptly.

His badge sounded and he answered with a "First Lieutenant Redex here"

On the other side of the link, a female said "Lieutenant you are hereby ordered to report to Captain Song onboard USS Amandora as the New Marine Commander, more details will be provided on-site"

Henry was ecstatic, finally a command of his own. He went in to tell his grandfather about it, he has always been his mentor.

After a couple of hours and the needed goodbyes he jumped on the family aircar and let tony, his grandfather's chauffeur drive him to the spaceport where a Starfleet shuttle would take him to the Amandora.

Cyndi having received word she's be getting a marine commander was thrilled, while the ship's security was always great the marines added an extra layer of protection, especially off the ship.

As he took the copilot's seat he was asked if he would want to pilot it to his new ship and he agreed, once he was on his way he thought of his new responsibilities and hoped that he will be up to the task.

After some time at the helm, he saw the USS Amandora for the first time and he was instantly in love with her, he knew he will be fine and that this vessel will carry him through the stars.

Cyndy was eager to meet the marine commander and she even had a surprise for him.

Henry disembarked, gave his stuff to an orderly and proceed to meet his new CO, as he arrived he got a glimpse of what the ship looked like, it was all that he wanted and more, in his mind he began to make security plans for all the contingencies his mind has provided him.

As he arrived at the bridge he nodded to the Officer of the watch and pressed the chime.

"Come in," Cyndi called setting aside several department requests.

As he was ordered to come in he stood in front of his new CO's desk saluted and said "FIRST LIEUTENANT HENRY REDEX REPORTING AS ORDERED MA'AM"

"At ease," Cyndi replied "Please have a seat, I've been going over your service record. You come highly recommended captain."

Henry took the seat his CO offered and said "Thanks Ma'am I was static when I learn that the Amandora will be my next assignment and I hope that I'm up to the task"

"I need the best, this is a brand new ship as I'm sure you've noticed. I keep tripping over engineers and maintenance personal," Cyndi said "But I am curious to one thing, I know how long it can take for things to happen. But you should have been notified of something before your trip out here. Have you heard from the marine commandant?"

"No ma'am My orders just said to report to you at my earliest convenience", answered Henry

Cyndi pulled open a drawer on her desk and checked several boxes before finding the right one. Picking up the box Cyndi closed the drawer and got to feet and walked around to the front of her desk "I'm not usually the person to do this, but considering command didn't inform you. I hear by promote you to the rank of Marine captain." she handed him the box containing his new rank insignia.

Henry looked at his CO and accepted the box with the rank bars and said as she pinned them onto his collar, "Thanks Ma'am I will live up to your expectations"

"I have no doubt you will," Cyndi assured him

Henry Saluted made a crisp turn and exit the ready room, as he was walking to the turbolift he saw everyone looking at his new rank insignia and just smiled.
