Post Number 9 Meeting The Captain

Mission: Reporting Aboard

ON:

"The captain is on the bridge, she's been aboard a few hours," the chief informed him.

"Thanks Chief". He said and headed for the nearest turbo lift. He'd loaded everything he might need onto his pad and it comes in quite handy navigating a new ship.

He ran over details in his mind as the lift doors closed and he felt the familiar shift in his organs as the lift sped off toward the bridge. He'd gathered intelligence on fleet movements so he would always know which Starfleet ships were nearest his ship at any given time which dovetailed into supply and assistance per scenario.

The lift came to a stop and the door slid open. He saw her right away. In his best official tone he said "Lieutenant Bjorn Magnason reporting for duty. Permission to enter the bridge."

Cyndi turned to see who had come to the bridge, seeing a new officer nodded at his request "Permission granted."

Bjorn stepped forward onto the bridge. "Captain, I've prepared a tactical assessment report for you, as well as Situational report. I filed it with your office."

He stood there wanting to look around but knowing he'd better give the Captain his undivided
attention.

Cyndi smiled "I'm impressed, when did you find time to do this? Perhaps we should go to my office and have a look. Unnless your tired from your trip out here."

Bjorn smiled. "Thank you Captain, no, I could use a rest, sure but these reports shouldn't wait".

She led him to her office and motioned for him to take a seat.

He sat down opened his pad. "To be honest Captain, my reports would be a bit more comprehensive if I had any idea of where we are going and what will we be doing." He was cutting to the chase.

"With this being a brand new ship I'm waiting on my final crew before we pull out of space dock. We'll do a shake down cruise to work out any bugs this ship may or may not have and if we run into something out there so much the better. I'm anxious to see how this crew comes together," Cyndi replied taking a seat at her desk. We'll be heading out to the Sagittarius System. It's just been discovered. Have you heard anything about it?"

"Yes Ma'am I have. Getting in on the initial tactical assessment is a nice bonus. I'm looking forward to it". he said enthusiastically.

He leaned forward in his chair. "Captain, do you know what defensive driving is?"

"I can't say I do," Cyndi admitted "What have you heard on that sector of space?"

He sat up straighter in the chair and said "Just that the early probes indicate there are areas that appear to be difficult to navigate. Some scuttlebutt I heard while I was aboard the Marine transport" He hit a icon on his pad and transferred the report to the captain's in-box.

"Captain, if there's nothing else I'd like to take a bit to secure my things and grab a shower." he said as he stood up.

Cyndi got to her feet "Thank you for the information and I'll make sure helm is aware of this. Take time to get some rest and get used to the ship. Your good to go."
