Post Number 1 Arriving At Star Base Danvers

After leaving orbit of Cardassia Kalina had the ship on a heading of her choosing, Cyndi had taken time to change into uniform and had returned to the bridge. Paul made a rare appearance on the bridge as well and took the seat usually reserved for the second officer.

“Where are we?” Paul asked leaning back in his seat and accepting the cup of coffee from Cyndi’s yeoman.

“Lieutenant Herculoid what’s our location?” Cyndi asked

“We’re about three light years from the Danvers System, there’s a star base there,” Tara said after a few minutes.

“A friend of mine commands the star base, Admiral Snow,” Cyndi commented. “He’s nearing retirement age and was sent there. Kalina adjust course for the Danvers System and the star base, we’ll dock there for supplies and it will give the crew a chance to get off the ship. There are a few planets there and several moons that support life.”

“That and I spoke with General Long, she was going to request a shuttle to take her there as that’s where Richard is due to dock,” Paul said

Several hours later:

“Commodore the star base is on sensors,” Tara announced

“Kalina take us out of warp, standard approach, communications hail the star base,” Cyndi ordered

“You’re on commodore,” communications announced

The image of an older man with salt and pepper graying hair came up “Cyndi it’s good to see you,” Hank said “And Paul you old space dog, what can I do for you and your ship and crew?”

“Supplies and R and R for a couple of weeks, we just got off a very difficult assignment and nerves are frayed,” Cyndi replied

“Permission granted, dock in docking ring one and get me a list of supplies your ship and crew need. I’ll also have my personal come aboard your ship with a skeleton crew so your entire crew if they like can enjoy the base and the planets,” Hank said

“Thank you admiral,” Cyndi said keeping it official despite the fact they were old friends. Cyndi signaled to communications to cut the link as Kalina skillfully guided the ship into the docking ring. “Lieutenant Montgomery notify all departments to get supply requests in to me. Communications put me on ship wide speakers,”

“You’re on commodore,”

“All hands we’ve docked at Star Base Danvers, Admiral Snow will be sending a skeleton crew aboard so everyone can enjoy he base and several of the planets, get your supply requests into Lieutenant Montgomery before you leave the ship. We’ll be here for a couple of weeks and after what we’ve been through with the Princess we need it,” Cyndi said There are four planets and two of them have moons that support life. Enjoy the base and if you choose travel to the planets or the moons."
