When the Amandora’s computers shut down Tallman was not surprised, he’d expected it. Now to see if the price he’d paid for new command codes was worth it. Pulling the flash drive from his pocket he walked over to the woman at operations and handed it to her. “Plug this into the console and if this works the ship will have my command codes and it will be fully under my command.”

Vicki took the flash drive, plugged it into the operations console and a screen came up asking for a new log in, password and codes “There you go Tallman, it seems to have worked.”

“We’ll know in a few minutes,” Tallman said leaning over as he input a new log in, password and command codes. It took a few minutes and the computer acknowledged the change, “It worked, the price was high but Commodore Song’s ship is now fully under my control.”

“There’s no way anyone can break your codes?” Vicki asked

“A smart operations officer can, or computer system specialist but since there are no Amandora crew aboard that’s not going to happen. The codes were expensive and I was warned they are not foolproof. Besides the ship will be sold so what difference will it make,” Tallman commented as he took the center seat, “Helm now that the ship is under my full control set course for the badlands. Warp four.”

“Gotya boss,” Dixon said as he entered the coordinates and they ship jumped to warp. Cheers erupted on the bridge as the Amandora responded to a new commanding officer.
