With the destruction of the USS Amandora now a thing many speculations flew about if Starfleet would continue her heritage. As the votes went up and down a single voice at the Fleet yard of Utopia Planetia rang out in favor to keep Amandora around .

Commander Will Raymond, lead man, had served as Chief Engineer on the Amandora and also was promoted to Executive Officer. With a plethora of refit options at his finger tips Will found a very suitable replacement to become the Amandora -A.

All that remained was to find Commodore Cindy Song and inform her of the decision to replace the Amandora.

Not to be done via subspace radio but rather Will decided himself personally to deliver the news to Song on Klavor. Packing his own long range shuttle Will Raymond made best speeds to the ringed world.

Parking just outside the gates of her home Will approached the entrance and announced himself.

" I am here to see Commodore Cyndi Song please."

Cyndi hearing someone asking for her as commodore walked from her house and over to the gate, seeing Will and her gate closed opened the gate and locked it open. That had to be her parents doing "Will what a nice surprise what do I owe this visit to and is Amethyst with you? Please come in," Cyndi led the way into her house

" No Commodore but this does seem familiar doesn't it? I am here actually to inform you that Starfleet will be continuing the Amandora legacy. I am in charge of the refit department and had a vote. There are several vessels that have been refitted and upgraded that could easily rep...succeed the Galaxy class Amandora. I brought data to show you if you have time?" Will replied.

"That's all I have is time, Paul is doing something secretive for Starfleet that he said I don't need to know, the kids are in school. Please have a seat and can I offer you something to drink? It's not replicated," Cyndi asked

" Certainly then. So the Amandora was stolen and blown up. That is a big deal? Are you doing ok?" Will genuinely asked.

Cyndi took a seat on the couch , removed her sandals and nodded "It was necessary to save lives but command frowns on a star ship being destroyed. I feared I'd be up on countless charges but that's not the case. I've been cleared, but I've not heard if I'll get another ship, I could be assigned to a freighter or stuck commanding a star base. There were enough lives lost."

" No that want happen..As I said I run a refit department now at Planetia. Commodore I have a Vesta class with only 9 million miles and a newly refurbished warp core just waiting for the Amandora A paint to be applied. She's yours if you want her. Call it a gift from your old First Officer." Will stated.

"A Vesta Class, those are fairly new ."Cyndi commented "I've only seen one. Do I want her? Yes I do, but she'll have to be brought to Star Base Danvers as that is where a few of my officers are."

" Practically new. It's was the Silouette but the first warp core was defective after its first trial runs. So they sent her to us at Planetia. I kept her in mooring and when I heard about the Amandora I made sure to get in on the vote. The Amandora was my first real leadership role. She was special to me too. How many of your crew are hanging on? Is Tara still there? What about Doctor Hiri?" Will replied.

"Tara is still with me as it most of the crew you knew, Dr. Hiri left to take CMO slot on a star base,Doctor Long is now CMO, Nira was killed in the take over of Star Base Danvers and the attack on one of the planets the Danvers is in orbit of," Cyndi said "Some of the crew stayed at Danvers to help with the repairs.When the Amandora was stolen she fired on the star base heavily damaging it. Do you have the specs on the new ship? My chief Engineer is going to want to run his own tests on it and check it out," Cyndi said

" I do actually. I would like permission to join as a Mission Observer slash Engineering Officer to help you with the shake down...with your permission of course?" Will replied having a de ja vu feel once again.

"You'll need to speak with the chief engineer, Lieutenant David Montgomery, but I do welcome you back aboard even if only temporary," Cyndi said.

" I can certainly speak to your Chief and let them know I am there to monitor and assist. How long are you planning to vacation ?"

"I wasn't planing on a vacation, but it has been nice to be home and too see my kids and spend quality time with them and see my parents. It's also a good reminder of why I'm not thrilled to live in the Palace. I never did like being waited on. I know one day that will be my life but Starfleet gives me the leadership I need to one day be Queen," Cyndi said.

" I was surprised that sentries didn't descend upon me when I arrived. It is a beautiful home. I just sent the specs to you Chief Engineer. Do you have any questions for me Commodore before I leave? Will replied.

" Thank you, it's a far cry from the Palace and I enjoy my house. Had you not announced you were Starfleet the guards would have came running. They have strict orders not to question Starfleet and I am as you know armed, Cyndi said "But no I have no questions, you are welcome to stay I do have a guest room."

Will paused in his thoughts given their past history just before replying.

" Commodore thank you for the request but I took.a room at the embassy. I still have some follow up issues with the Vesta class ship . Just some red tape stuff. I do look forward to working with you again, even if it is for a few days" Will answered.

Cyndi nodded "Fair enough, but should you change your mind the offer stands. I can have the bed made in no time."

Will exited and took his hover cycle back to the embassy all the while considering her invitation.
