Cyndi and Hank walked from the briefing and into her ready room “I’m loaded with questions, what about supply runs?” Cyndi asked

“There won’t be much, the base is going to be self supporting, there is a solar system not far from the base that we’ve gained rights to one of the moons. It’s uninhabited and we have permission to farm it. The moon is about the size of Earth’s Moon maybe a little bigger and is a class M moon,” Hank replied

“That sounds good, farming and colonization will be good. What does that mean for me and my ship? Do you plan to have me based out here?”

“You’ll be able to come to Mercury as well as go to Saturn as well. I’m not planning at this point to limiting you out here only. I’m also hoping to get some treaties with the rest of the planets in the solar system for supplies as well. One moon shows high amounts of minerals, it’s like a big rock in space,” Hank replied “And I know the scientist in you is eager to get there.”

“In more ways than one,” Cyndi said “You’ve promoted me to commodore; just what am I going to be doing?”

“Pretty much what you are now, there will be once this get set up and operational I’m going to assign you more duties. You will have final say on officers being assigned to the base if the captain has a problem with them. There will be some deep exploration I’ll want you and your ship doing and having the commodore rank will be the best show of the Federation,” Hank said “I’ll let you get back to your command and I have a few things I need to take care of.”
