Post Number 19 Getting Ready To Assist The Mercury's Captain

Cyndi was eager to get over to the Mercury; the chance to help get a new base up and running was something that very few ship captains had the chance to do. Cyndi headed for the air lock Hank was leaning against the bulkhead when she rounded the corner.

“I figured you’d be waiting for me,” Cyndi smiled

Hank nodded “I was, there’s a few things over there I need to take care of and Captain Leaf told me you were coming over so I figured I’d go with you.”

“Fair enough,” Cyndi said as they fell instep “So what are the plans for this base?”

“Starfleet Command is hoping to have this as a hub, you’re the first ship to come out here officially but there have been some small ships that have come out here. Survey ships and the like. It was decided that a base was needed out here. As I told you and your officers and crew in the briefing we’ve received rights one a couple of moons out in that solar system to use for farming and colonization. There is also going to be a large hydroponics and such on the base that will supply enough food to help sustain the base and be able to repair ships as they came in,” Hanks replied

“A scientists dream to explore,” Cyndi commented

“That is could be,” Hank said as they arrived at the main control hub on the base “I’ll talk with you later Cyndi.”

Cyndi watched him walk off and she walked onto the control center of the Mercury.

Captain Leaf walked over and offered her hand “Commodore welcome aboard and I thank you and your officers and crew for all the assistance.”

“Thank you captain. How can I assist you?” Cyndi asked “Please call me Cyndi all these titles are going to get confusing.”

“And my name’s Helen.” She looked around the control center and back to Cyndi “I don’t even know where to start. It seems so overwhelming.”

“What do you need done first that’s the place to start,”Cyndi asked

“Getting shift rotations set up I think should be first,” Helen said

“Then let’s go to your ready room and we’ll see what I can do to help you,” Cyndi replied
