Once the ship arrived at the starbase, the crew would get to enjoy a short but much-needed period of downtime.

​Paul, for one, was looking forward to it. He hoped to use the station's holodecks to refine some of his scenic environment programs. While he enjoyed recreating real places from around the Alpha Quadrant, he particularly relished dabbling in mythical and fictional realms from stories and folklore.

​He had already visited the holodecks aboard the Amandora earlier that day to test his latest fantasy program, The Forest of Enchantment. He felt it was 90% complete, yet it still lacked a certain 'something', a detail that continued to elude him.

​His father, Jeff, had asked if he could build a simulation of his favorite French chateau, located in the Dordogne region of southern France. His father liked to pretend that he owned the estate, spending time there to unwind before returning to real life.

​Paul had already reached out to the chateau's actual owner, who was happy to let him replicate the exterior, though not the interior. Paul was happy to oblige; after all, the inside needed to be customized to his father's personal taste anyway.

​He worked on the program for a few moments more before leaving his quarters to assist the Commodore.
