Post Number 66 Family Time and Catching Up

Kristian had promised her mother and Alesha not to tell Tara they’d arrived. After some persuasion Kristian had finally convinced Tara to go with her over to the star base.

“I wish you’d tell me what is going on and why dinner on the Mercury and not on the ship,” Tara said as they walked along the promenade on the base

“I have my reasons dear cousin,” Kristian replied as they made their way into a restaurant.

Narla and Alesha had seen them enter and had put their menu’s up to hide their faces as Kristian steered Tara over to the table.

Narla put her menu down “How is my favorite niece?

“Aunt Narla! What are you doing here?” Tara asked hugging her aunt and then Alesha dropped her menu “You’re here too? What’s going on?”

Narla returned the hug “Everything is fine honey,” Narla said as they took seats “I’m here on business and Alesha has been transferred to your ship.”

Tara looked at Kristian “How long have you known?”

“They arrived earlier today. Mum as she said is here on business, seems the commodore knows why mum is here but she’s not talking,” Kristian said

“I for one am glad to finally be on a ship where someone is going to be friendly. My last assignment the crew was not overly friendly,” Alesha commented “When I learned Narla was coming out here I offered to bring her as I had to bring my fighter along.”

“And don’t ask me why I’m here as I’m not saying either. All I will say is everyone will find out in due time,” Narla replied “Alesha and I are staying in VIP quarters on the ship until everything is settled and the reason why I’m here is revealed.”

“Then I’ll report to Captain Hurd and let him know that he has another fighter pilot,” Alesha said “But in the meantime we have a lot of catching up,”

“I’m so glad to see both of you, Aunt Narla how are my parents?” Tara asked

“Fine honey,” Narla responded “They send their love and told me to tell you one of them will be out to see you at some point,” Narla reached into a bag she carried and handed Tara a PADD “Your father wanted me to give this to you, he said to read it over and give him some suggestions on how it needs to be handled. He said something about it being your idea.”

Taking the PADD Tara slipped it into her own bag “I’ll read it when I return to this ship. But for now I just want to relax and as Alesha said catch up.”

After several hours Kristian checked the time “I need to get back to the ship, I have some patients to see first thing in the morning.”

“We’ll head back together, as I can’t speak for Alesha but I’m tired and all I want right now is to call your dad and climb into bed,” Narla said as they got to their feet and after dropping some credits on the table the four of them headed back to the ship. Once there each went her own way.
