Mission:
Star Base Mercury
Location: Isolation Chamber
Timeline: current/somewhere in between
OOC: There is a backpost JP coming that will explain the pod being brought aboard. Apologies for getting caught up in life.
ON:
Tore stood leaning his bum against a lab table, arms crossed as he played with the whiskers on his chin. His legs were crossed at the ankles, the sarcophogas doing fine after he had hooked up a portable generator in the isolation room. The tendrils had come forth and enveloped it in a mound of that clear gelatinous...whatever. Now, the tendrils glowed with that eerie white-blue that plasma lines give off, so there was definitely an energy exchange. The head of the sarchophagus was to his right, and he had noted that the small window one could view the face of the alien through, had cleared of all frost. He had spent the past weeks reverse engineering the controls on the pod, thinking like a physician. It would do them no good to open the pod and the being within suffocates on something in our atmosphere. The door to the outer lab opened and Kelliza came in, with Bjorgo looking at her with a nod and grin, standing up straight.
Enterign the isolation room's airlock, Kahn underwent the screening the disinfecting process. Within a few seconds it was over and the inner doors opened, with her stepping inside. "Hi, Tore. Anything new?" She came in and stood next to him, also crossing her arms over her chest as she took in the sarcophagus.
"Not really." He dropped his arms to his sides and stepped up to the pod, laying his hands on it. "It's more advanced, with a definite biomechanical influence. Everything says she will be okay," Tore motioned at the window. "If we crack it open. But...I just need to be sure, Ya know?"
Liza stepped in next to him, on his right so she could look into the window better. "She seems so peaceful. Well, if it even is a 'she'. For all we know they may call women, men, and men, women. Who's to say. But, we'll never know unless you open it, Doctor." That's when her neck protruded a bit as she examined the clear material. "Have you noticed that the frost is gone?" Her head turned to look at him, her own arms dropping.
Bjorgo nodded. "I have. I think that we disturbed the pod a bit too much and, now, it is bringing her," again he motioned towards the face they could see. "out of hibernation slowly. A full regen, in other words. One, I hope she's friendly and a vegetarian. Two, I will remain in isolation with her until the seal cracks. My medical staff know their jobs. They can always come and consult me through the guest window and intercom if need be."
Reaching out, Liza placed her left hand on his right forearm, giving it a squeeze and holding it. "Hey, no one can do this but you. As Security Chief my recommendation is that you crack it open much sooner. If she is in a weakened state I am sure you know what to do for hibernation sickness. But, it gives us time to question her. To build good repore before she regains whatever strengths she will have."
Tore's eyebrows raised in a happy, positive way. "I like it. Agreed." She had let go of his arm, which was good. It had made him uncomfortable. Why? He couldn't say. "Also, I'll let you know when I will open it. You and a few others should be enough Security, I would think."
"One team," responded Kahn. "Me, and two others. I don't want our guest to be alarmed by too many armed individuals. I won't be wearing one so that I can step in closer without having weapons. If she even recognizes them as such."
"All good thinking, and why you are who you are this go around. Never met a Kahn I didn't like. Now, get the hell out of here and let me work."
Liza smiled as she began to move. "Yes, Doctor. The ship is abuzz with talk of the pod. I'm sure that the command staff would love to be here for the grand opening. Just a thought." She stepped out into the lab, then out into Sickbay proper.
Bjorgo hadn't even watched her leave, already kneeling to examine the control panel for the hundredth time.
