#86 May We?

Mission:
Star Base Mercury
Location: Runabout/Amandora
Timeline: Backpost
ON:
The sarcophogus/stasis pod arrived by transporter in the aft section of the runabout, after they had moved, or collapsed all non-essential furnishings. The moment it beamed in root-like plasma tendril sprang from every nook and cranny on the object, seeking power. The roots tore through carpet and tweaked metal deck plates to slide on down and wrap itself around the warp core. The lights all over the ship flickered and the red alert klaxon was sounding.
"Get us off the ground, Liza!" Shouted Bjorgo, to be heard over the cacophony. "I'll try and shut this down."
Liza didn't argue as she had already removed her EVA suit and was down to the body glove. Hopping into the pilot's seat she tapped controls and adjusted power, lifting off with repulsors, not mainly the engines. "Ascending now. Get that thing figured out!" She reached out and muted the computer voice mixed in with the alert klaxon. Finally! She could hear normally. "I'll contact Amandora."
"Let 'em know we're coming in hot, and to cordon off my private lab area for an incoming object. No one in the lab when it first beams in."
Kahn relayed the CMO's instructions before tapping the comm channel. "Kahn to Amandora. Opening visual communications." She tapped more keys to set that up. Now, all on the Bridge could see what was going on behind her, the red lights flashing and Bjorgo grumbling curses at himself somewhere off camera. She gave a sheepish grin. "Hi, folks. Uhhh...we're on our way back." Another embarrassed pseudo-smile crossed her face. "And, uhmm, we're bringing a guest, per Doctor's orders."
Ensign Eva Humphreys manned the comm board.
" Message acknowledged Lt Kahn."
"Oh, thank the Elements," sighed out Kahn, before catching herself like a female form of Han Solo. "Hi, Humphreys." How she had remembered that she had no clue. "We have an alien escape pod in back, which has locked tendrils around our power core to maintain function. So, uhhh...beaming us all directly to the Doc's lab would be awesome! We can get the runabout later, right?"
Cyndi sent the order to the transporter room to lock onto the runabout and beam what ever it was aboard to the CMO's lab and ordered a level ten forcefield around the lab. "I'm going down there. Once they're aboard lock onto the runabout and bring it aboard," Cyndi headed for the CMO's lab and arrived just as they did
Manning the engineering station on the bridge Eva monitored the transport to the lab. The weight was large but the transport was successful.
Seeing the what ever it was that had just beamed aboard "Doctor what is in that?" Cyndi asked wishing she had a tri-coder with her.
" That box has life signs," Eva told her.
"What kind of life-form?" Cyndi asked.
" Undetermined by transporter lock. Only it had a bio signature."
"If you think it's safe open it. But at the first sign of trouble I want it contained," Cyndi said "I already have a level ten force-field around this lab."
Eva took relief from the bridge and hustled to the the transporter room to observe and assess.
Tore came back out of his personal CMO lab, hearing the questions a conversation on the matter. "My apologies to you all for the sudden need. The pod, which likens more to a sarcophagus, sends out these odd, gel-like tendrils to latch on to power sources to maintain function. It is in the isolation chamber, Commodore, and we are free of any contagions."
Kelliza had come out of the lab, as well, but stood silent as the others discussed the events.
Commander Raymond arrived to the lab next being very curious about this find.
Cyndi nodded "Open it, weapons on stun just in case. Let's see what's inside. The scientist in me is understandably curious."
Will was not a scientist but he too was curious what was inside.
"Commodore, with all due respect." Doctor Bjorgo began. "As the Chief Medical Officer, I will open it when I know more about her physical status. The interior is scan shielded so I can't even tell what kind of atmosphere she breathes. Give me a week, or so, to determine what her needs are. If I cannot, then we'll take a chance and open it at that time. Everyone will be called to observe the hatching of the female guest."
While not happy Cyndi did trust Tore. "I want you to make sure she's no threat to the safety of my ship. Erect a level ten forcefield around this and keep me posted. The safety of this ship comes first."
Doctor Bjorgo showed his relief in his expression. "Thank you, both. Every precaution will be made."
"Keep me posted," Cyndi said.
Tore gave her a positive nod. He then turned and began to prep his isolation chamber for the pod.

OOC: Crew, please understand this is a backpost from way back when. Bjorgo's last post is up-to-date. TY all for your patience.
