Christina was getting bored sitting around on the sofa in Hurd’s Quarters, she was supposed to be resting but at the same time Kristian had said she could get some exercise. She looked across at David, “I’m bored, do you fancy going for a walk?”

"Why yes, where to?", He said, extending his hand.

Kuroth Tor heard about the events and made haste to greet Christina and Hurd. Tapping the chime he awaited their answering.

Christina looked towards the door. “I’m not expecting anyone, you?” She was still a little nervous after her stabbing even though she’d been told Kordell was dead.

"No", He replied as he stood and unsnapped his holster.

As the door opened a Bajoran male walked inside. Christina smiled and breathed a sigh of relief.

" You must be Christina? The Counselor told me where to find you. I am Kuroth Tor of Bajor and a fellow teacher. Amethyst said you needed some help while you recover from injury. I am the Morale and Diplomatic officer of the Amandora. I also hold scholastic and divinity degrees with the Federation."

Christina smiled and nodded “I’d appreciate all the help I can get.” She smiled warmly and motioned beh8nd him.. “Kuroth this is Captain David Hurd,”

Tor bowed and looked Hurd in the eyes seeing a deepness to his soul.

" Hello sir."

Hurd eyed the man for a moment, and bowed back respectively.

" I do not wish to intrude. I am simply making my way through the ship to get to know everyone. As Morale Officer I look forward to making this ship a positive place to be." Tor replied.

Christina smiled. “That’s very kind of you. We were just about to go for a walk actually, would you care to join us?”

" I have other duties. Perhaps later."

~ A little while later ~

Walking along at a nice sedate pace Christina saw the chapel up ahead. “Is that a chapel? I didn’t realise we had one onboard.” She looked at Hurd. “Do you mind if we take a look?”

"I don't mind at all dear, shall we?",he said gesturing inside.

Walking inside she marvelled at the small chapel, she loved churches and chapels she found them beautiful in ways she couldn’t explain. “This is gorgeous! I’d like to get married in a chapel like this one day.”

" Well hello again. Did you say you wish to get married today? I just finished a ceremony actually." Tor greeted again.

Turning to her, Hurd got down on one knee, pulling out a box from his pocket. Opening it to reveal a diamond studded ring with a golden blue band, he asked, "Baby, will you marry me?"

Chrissy stood wide eyed and open mouthed before the surprise wore off and she nodded. “I ... Yes!!”

" Excellent...follow me." Tor directed them to the alter area.

Chrissy looked at David. “Are you sure you’re ready to do this now?”

"More sure than I am before I step foot on the Battlefield my dear", he replied.

Chrissy smiled warmly. “Then so am I” Chrissy nodded to Tor. “Let’s do this.”

Tor began a traditional ceremony commonly used in the Federation.

" David and Christina you both are here of your own choice. Seeking to walk the path the universe has prepared before you. The path of marriage involves a give take concept. Sometimes you give and sometimes you receive. In all this the emotion of love must always be present. In anger love reminds us of this covenant and in the good times the covenant is remembered by how we treat one another and others. Do either of you have vows for one another?" Tor began.

Christina looked at Tor, then at Hurd. “I never expected this but I can give it a go.” She smiled warmly. “David, we haven’t known each other very long, but in the time I have known you I’ve come to love and respect you. They talk about true love, something I never believed in until now.” She smiled the biggest smile yet. “Nothing will make me happier than marrying you, to become your wife and to spend the rest of my life taking care of you.”

"Chrissy, you have shown me what love is", he replied. "You broke through my tough exterior and saw the man inside of me." "I loved you at first sight, and always will be there for you, through the good and bad, will always honor and cherish you for the rest of my life "

" The universal symbol for love as this is traditionally a ring. Because love is like a circle as no ending can be found. By the power vested in me by the Federation I pronounce you Husband and Wife. You may kiss your Bride Sir."

Hurd kissed her passionately. He had never been so happy in his life, he felt as though his heart was going to burst. Gently, he pulled away and looked into her eyes, seeing his future laying before him.

Chrissy had stood looking into David’s eyes before returning his kiss with passion. As their lips parted she smiled the biggest smile of all. “Hello husband.” She turned to look at Tor. “Thank you so much!” She stepped over to him and gave him a friendly hug before stepping back to David. “Let’s go home.” As much as she wanted a honeymoon she knew that would have to wait until their next shoreleave.

" May the Universe Bless this couple and this day," Tor replied lifting his hands up and joining the index and thumbs.

"There is one other thing", David said kneeling. Reaching to his side, he pulled his .45 and held it before her. "This is a Marine Tradition, I am, by presenting this to you, entrusting you with my heart, mind, body, and soul."

“Then I accept” Chrissy gently took the .45 from his hands. “From this day forward I will love you and protect you from harm.” She smiled warmly.

Tor did not respond to this tradition as he did not care for weapons anymore having vowed to no longer weild weapons.

" Peace and long life children. Go and love one another."
