Will rushed back to the bridge and spied a fresh face he had yet to really get to know.

" Hello Lieutenant?" Will greeted.

Ellie was on her first bridge shift, getting used to the science station. She smiled as she turned to greet whoever had spoken. “Hello Commander”

" Welcome to the bridge Lieutenant. I love to meet new faces. Commander Will Raymond XO and all around good guy. So where are you from?"

“Originally Earth but I’ve not long transferred in from the USS Chamberlain Sir. I’m the new Archaeologist and Anthropologist.”

" We could use you on the away mission, Lieutenant."

“An away mission?” Ellie nodded enthusiastically. “I like the sound of that Sir.”

" Let me clear it with the Commodore but yeah I want an archaeologist on this team." Will replied.

Ellie nodded. “Of course Sir, as I wasn’t there for the briefing can you fill me in on what I missed?”

" Scalia is populated by a feline species. We are being asked to determine if they are eligible for enlistment into the Federation. It would also give you a great opportunity to study an alien architecture and culture. We are light years away. from the Caitians, Kzinti or Lyrans and to find a feline species out here is fascinating to quote a Vulcan," Will said enthusiastically.

“It sounds fascinating!” Ellie grinned. “I wonder if this feline species are related to the Caitians at all?” Her mind was buzzing at the sheer thought of encountering a new species.

"Or the Gleniq, a species we met a few months ago?." Will added.

“I’ll have a read up on those Sir” Ellie made a mental note to look later on. “I’m also a translation specialist thanks to my Archaeology skills so hopefully if there’s anything that needs translating I’ll be able to help there too.”

" Sweet. Great to meet you Lieutenant and welcome to the Amandora." Will finished.

“Thank you Sir, I’ll look forward to joining the away team.”

" Now it's work time. " Will answered as he moved to the center seat.

Ellie nodded. “Hopefully it’ll be a quiet shift Sir”

" Magnify screen. Let's take a look at that nebula." Will ordered.

Ellie nodded and brought up the Nebula on the main viewscreen. “There she is, beautiful to look at.”

Will agreed as he viewed it's beauty. The planet was also as vibrant. Taking it all in Will imaged what was below.

But as usual real life interrupted.

" Commander your needed down in Major Hurds office," the comms officer directed.

" Thank you. Duty Officer to the bridge." Will summoned.

Awaiting his relief by the watch duty officer Will hastened to the summons.
