Kuroth Tor, the old Bajoran monk quickly hastened to the bridge for a brief meeting with the Commodore despite the crunch in time.

" Commodore it is imperitive we speak before this meeting. My sources tell me that Savai's enlistment to the Federation is at best a maybe given their cultural abstracts. The feline species is the dominant one there but it is not the only sentient one there. To what end are we willing to entertain the Savai acceptance?" Tor asked the Commodore.

"A lot depends on what the away team finds. I wanted to send an undercover team down but that was met with opposition so I scrubbed it and Commander Raymond's team is preparing to head down," Cyndi replied .

" Actually a shuttle. With your leaving the system he felt having a shuttle would be prudent. As a Federation diplomat I wish only to be prepared for the Savai's government. Do we know who or whom are we looking for?" Tor asked next.

"They will meet the shuttle when it lands," Cyndi replied "They will introduce themselves and inform Commander Raymond to introduce the entire away team and what positions they are"

" Perhaps you could have your covert team. I propose myself and Lt Herculoid beam down ahead of the shuttles arrival. In your name Dear Commodore?" Tor proposed.

"Herculoid is off this away team ," Cyndi said "Commander Raymond feels that Lieutenant Kees needs the experience and it's his away team."

" With respect to the Commander this is not a time to let the children run the register....as your diplomatic aide I would prefer we do this in accordance with protocol. " Tor replied.

"If I were following protocol I'd be leading this away team and not the first officer," Cyndi replied "The commander can handle it and if a problem persists he can contact me."

" Very well Commodore. I will join the team and just observe then." Tor stopped his attempt to influence. " By your leave Commodore?"

"Your the diplomatic officer, I'm counting on you to keep things from getting out of hand. Go join the away team," Cyndi said.

" Yes ma'am" Tor snapped to attention, being a senior didn't stop him from being a citizen soldier.
