[Quarters]

After a nice breakfast with her husband, Heather bid James a nice day as he was off to the Bridge to get used to the Science Stations. Since Heather had been aboard the Ship for a few days, and all of the meetings were over with, she was anxious to get back to work Although the break from the normal routine was nice for a change and she did get to spend some quality time with James.

Since the Biology Lab was on Deck 5, just down the corridor a ways from their new home, it only took a few minutes for Heather to get to work which was a welcome change from the Dunkirk. The Lab was mostly Biology but the other three Science Disciplines did have a station in the same Lab with their main labs on the other three decks.

[Main Lab]

As Heather entered the rather large Lab she looked around but didn't see Lieutenant Herculoid; but couldn't help noticing that all eyes were on her “Could I have your attention please” Heather said “Hello, for all of the Biology people, please allow me to introduce myself. I am Lieutenant Heather McTavish....the new head of Biology.....and before anyone asks.....yes Lieutenant James McTavish, who I sure you have already met as the new Chief Science Officer, is my husband. I'm sure that we will work together just fine and if anyone has any questions or concerns please fell free to ask me anytime. Also who is the second in this Department” then a hand went up as this young lady stepped forward.

“Lieutenant hello, I'm Ensign Amy Stone your assistant. I'm very pleased to meet you Ma'am” she replied.

“I'm very pleased to meet you too” Heather responded “So can you bring me up to speed on what's been going on around here.” While everyone else went back to work the two of them talked for quite some time as the Ensign showed the Lieutenant around the Biology Lab. Heather couldn't help but notice all of the state-of -the-art equipment throughout the entire facility; it was going to be a pleasure to work under such favorable conditions.

After her tour, Heather decided to busy herself with some slides that had been previously prepared and needed some attention while waiting for Lieutenant Herculoid to arrive; besides it would give her a chance to get used to some of new equipment.

[Bridge]

After leaving their quarters James made his way to the Bridge to work with the Science Stations, which he had carved out some time to do.

He decided to check long range sensors just to see what was out there. James came across a spacial anomaly, that was quite a few light years away, which he zoomed in on. To his surprise the amount of information and detail that the Station afforded him was amazing. He could get used to that amount of detail and information, which would be invaluable in a crisis situation.

After a couple of hours at the Science Stations James was satisfied with his proficiency with the panels and decided to return to his office to go over the pile of reports which needed his attention.
