Post Number 44 Escape

Kristian watched the three men leave and worked to free her hands. Sonya and Marlaina’s lessons came back to her. Both of them had told everyone that should you be restrained to tighten up your muscles so when the chance for escaping came all you needed to do was to relax and your bonds should loosen. It took some time but Krisitian was able to free her hands. A short time later she untied her ankles, got to her feet and stretched to ease the stiffness from being restrained. Walking over she picked up her field kit and tri-coder and checked everything. Kristian was relieved to find that nothing was broken.

Pulling her phaser out of the field kit Long strapped it on, not wanting to get caught off guard again. The men had mentioned mining, puzzled Kristian scanned the structure she was in for anything out of the ordinary. The only thing she could find was the rocks that she and Commander Raymond had seen in an underground passage. Could that be what the men were mining? Long didn’t know but she remembered where the underground passage was. Walking to the door of the structure Kristian scanned for the men. Not getting a reading she also looked carefully and not seeing them headed off at a dead run for the underground passage. Arriving at the passage a short time later Kristian scanned the passage and not finding any signs of life. Drew her phaser and entered the passage. After collecting some of the rocks and placing them into a container for later analyzing Kristian headed off to meet up with Commander Raymond and the rest of the away team and to tell him what she’d found.

Long couldn’t help but wonder what the three men would think or do when they got back to that structure and found her gone.
