Lt Commander James Bird followed the rules even if he didn't agree with them. Most career officers did if they wanted to get ahead. For ten years he had been an infiltration specialist but now he had chosen an unknown job title as XO.

To be one on the Amandora meant to have the dreaded physical.

Arriving just in time Jay tapped the arrival button and signed in using his thumb.

Kristian hearing the doors to sick bay open looked up to see what had come in. Spotting the officer who had been in the briefing, got to her feet and walked over to meet him "I'm Doctor Long the ACMO, what can I do for you commander? If your looking for the CMODr. Bjorgo isn't in yet."

" Who ever is supposed to do my physical will do. Which one of you handles the marines? That's the one I want" Jay replied.

Bjorgo strode into Sickbay just as the Commander wanted to know about a marine doctor. "That covers my entire medical staff. We are all qualified to work on everyone. Please, Commander, bring the intensity down a notch and Dr. Long will see to you. I need to calibrate a few instruments so I'm here if you have questions." He went to a biobed station and began to tap in medical codes to access the programming.

" Isn't he a pretty thing. Lead the way Doctor Long." Bird replied.

"I call it my 'god-shine', James." Quipped Bjorgo, liking the man's brusque mannerisms. He moved to the next biobed for a diagnostic.

James sat down and waited on Long to begin as he started undressing his upper uniform.

" I will warn you that my body has numerous stab wounds and scars. Those are all job related due to past .... assignments. I was up until today a baby sitter for a washed up Admiral but the days still young " Jay remarked to Long.

Kristian returned with her medical tri-coder "No admiral is washed up. Anything else I need to know about, for example what jobs did you have that got all those stab wounds. It looks to me as if they were never treated properly." after running several scans on him "Did you bring you medical records with you by any chance?"

" No all my past duties were top secret Intel . Need to know and such. I do have tmj from yawning on Klavor there might be a medical record of that if Amandora has a link to their medical computer." Bird replied.

"Klavor is the commodore's home planet, I'll see if she can get your records from there," Kristian said as she finished her scans "Your in good health, everything seems normal. In medical matters commander there is nothing that we can't know. What is said here in sick bay stays here. Do you have any questions for me at this time?" Kristian picked up a stethoscope and listened to the commanders heart and lungs with it.

" I have a nanotronic pacemaker. A Borg gift I suppose you could say. I was almost assimilated . The damage was almost totally reversed except for needing nanite pacemaker for my heart. The lasting result is I have great stamina in battle and in the bed room if you know what I mean Lieutenant." Bird winked. " My wife Misty never complains at least. She may be joining me now that I have been offered First Officer."

"I'll take your word on that part," Kristian said "When is she due to join you? But in any case commander your cleared for duty."

" Good . I am not sure now. With the Admiral away she was reassigned back to Earth. She is a Nurse and took a position at Star Fleet Medical. Our kids are grown. Thank you Dr Long." Bird replied .

"Well should se decide to join us I look forward to meeting her. Unless Dr. Bjorgo has anything your cleared to go. I'll send a report to the commodore," Kristian said snapping her tri-coder shut and putting her stethoscope in the pocket of her lab coat.

"I have nothing to add, other than if he ends up sick I'll know who to blame," Bjorgo quipped, grinning to show he was being funny. He had finished his last biobed readings and was satisfied. "You're cleared for duty, Commander. Have a good one."

" Thank you Doctor Bjorgo. You run a good show here sir. Clean...I like clean in my sickbay. Field hospitals are never clean. " Bird replied.

Being an Augment, Bjorgo began to bristle but got himself under control enough to keep his tone pleasant. "You're welcome to visit MY Sickbay, anytime, Commander. And, don't ever come in here dripping blood. It takes days to get it out of the carpet." His body stance was casual but Tore's eyes met that of the new XO. His gaze met that of James Bird, letting him know without need for words that respect was earned not given. Give respect, get respect. "My dry humor tends to be off-setting. Apologies. Have a good day."

" I agree. My sarcasm comes from all the BS and blood I have shed all in the name of Star Fleet rules and goals. You don't have to apologize for being you Doctor. Donadagohvi..til we meet again." Jay replied.
