Doctor Bjorgo was in Sickbay proper, talking to his fellow staff members on the Alpha shift. The day had been slow, with no injuries occuring that required a visit to the infirmary. But, he had cast that thought too soon, for the door opened and in walked a young woman with operations gold on, a Lt.jg., limping as she strode across the room toward the bloom of blue shirts. All of whom spread out to form a line, shoulder to shoulder, to look at the arrival.
"Damn, am I under arrest?" Asked Ensign Shiela Ginn. The intense gazes on all their faces was both creepy and intimidating.
Bjorgo broke into a grin. "Pardon?"
Ginn motioned at them. "You look ready to tackle me to the floor, forming a wall of bodies. Are you going to carry me to a biobed?"
The entire line of medical officers grinned, some giving light chuckles. Tore gave the answer. "Not at all. Apologies, you're the first visitor all day, so as you came in we were all sizing up your injury. And, yes." He stepped in quickly and scooped the woman up, holding her a moment to look her in the eyes with a smile. "Shall we?" he then mkoved over to a biobed.
"Wait," smiled Shiela, giving him the eyes. "I kinda like this. Can we hold it for a minute or two?"
"Tell you what," answered Bjorgo. "Let me tend to your injured leg, none of us missed the burnt pant leg, by the way. After that I can carry you home."
Ginn agreed and was placed on the biobed, with the head of the bed up to full so she was completely sat up without muscle strain to her torso. "I'll skip the carrying home. A little much. But, thank you for the offer."
Bjorgo heard every word, while at the same time cutting away her pant leg and tearing it open up to mid thigh. Her calf was bruised and burned, probably a plasma conduit mishap. "Is this the owie making you limp, Ensign?"
"Owie?" Giggled Ginn. "Sure, yeah, that's my owie. Can you help me, dad?"
Bjorgo flashed her a pseudo-shocked expression. "And I was so polite. No need to get nasty. Elder gent, older guy," he shrugged casually. "Sure. But, only when counting years. Age will not be a factor in my life for quite some time. Anyway, how'd this happen? You bouncing around in a jeffries tube with zero grav for fun?"
Again Shiela giggled. "Not a bad idea," she quipped. "But, no. I had opened a grate earlier in my maintenance, and forgot to at least put the safety cage over the EPS conduit. While working on another section I moved my leg just right and zap!" She looked into his eyes as he gazed at her. "It's in my report. When I make mistakes I own my shit."
"There are no mistakes, my dear. Just random events intended to teach us life lessons." Tore gave her a grin as he looked back at her injury, proceeding with the healing. Gel treatment to the burned areas of skin while he used the dermal regenerator to heal up the epicenter of the wound. By the looks of it she must have been tossed across the tube to the other bulkhead. Looking up at the biobed monitors he saw that she ahd no broken bones, but that there was severe internal bruising on her back and shoulders, not to mention whiplash to her neck as she impacted the wall. "We'll get you fixed up, Shiela. Have no worries, you're in good hands." Her name was up on the biobed scanner, so he used it to put her at ease. "If you wish I can sedate you and heal the damage. The sleep will enhance your recovery."
"Put me out, Doctor. I could use the nap."
"As you wish," answered Tore, prepping a hypo and injecting her carotid. "Pleasant dreams, Ensign." She was completely out in seconds.
With his patient unconscious it was easier to roll and move her body for repairs, since she wasn't clenching up at the first sign of pain. It was so much more helpful. Afterword he stood next to her bed while he brought up a holographic screen and began his medical log, speaking as the computer put it in medical files and logs.
