Kelliza Kahn was unhappy, to say the least, and understood exactly how Major Hurd felt. There was no clear aggressor, and the briefing had done nothing to clarify who the enemy was, or what the hell they were fighting for. Marines secure the compound, Security secures the interior of the embassy. Well, that was the way it was supposed to be, but her Security department had been summarily shut down so that she could play babysitter between diplomats. That was fine, and a part of her duties. The biggest issue was that this world was a Federation member, they knew the rules for joining and had agreed to them. Now, because of that agreement, here was Starfleet, here to protect the innocents caught in the middle. Starfleet was created to serve the citizens of the UFP, not the other way around. Arriving at Commander Bird's office door Liza reached out and tapped the chime, clasping her hands behind her back and waiting somewhat impatiently.

" Come in Lieutenant. What's up?" Bird replied as he was curious why security might be looking for him.
" If you are here to arrest me let's have a drink first?" Jay added.

As she entered and he said that Liza gave a grin, a goodly portion of her negativity dissipating with that small action. It was not in her character to remain down and angry and his cheeky statement had made her relax. "Keep drinking, Sir, not here to arrest. I'm here for clarification. The briefing left me completely confused as to who is who and what is what. And, why Security is not being utilized for embassy defense. I mean, is this a diplomatic mission or, are we gonna go in with marines blazing?"

" Good question to which I am also confused. Major Hurd is confined to quarters and his Lieutenant is leading those marines to sure death. As an infiltration specialist myself I am curious to the end game. This world us screwed up and the Federation too. They have too many leaders and that always messes stuff up. Based in that briefing I would close the Federation embassy and secure the Federation Ambassador aboard the Amandora until they straighten out their....stuff." Bird replied.

Liza gave a few nods of agreement, her stance relaxed as her hands fell to her sides, and using them to talk. "You took the words right out of my mouth, Sir. My angst is over the situation. I am the Security Chief and it is my duty to see to the safety of this crew and all Federation citizens. I can't do that with one hand tied behind my back, Commander."

" We can take this up with the Commodore. I will back you up Lieutenant." Jay added.

"For the record, Commander Bird, I am all for the ideas we have so far considered." Kahn responded. "They just need a bit of tweaking so we don't escalate the situation or, get caught with our pants down." She gave a nodding bow from the neck. "As for the Commodore, I have no issue discussing it with her. Plus, before the guests arrive, we need a shipwide broadcast that explains to the crew what will be taking place. Their reaction times will be much better for it if they know to respond to situations correctly. As XO, I am passing to you my recommendations as Security Chief."

" I agree. As chief of Staff I say Make it So Chief. Implement those suggestions under my Authority as Executive Officer " Bird replied.

"Thank you, Sir." Kelliza gave a casual nod and stepped in as if to shake hands. When his hand came up she clasped his arm on a warrior's handshake. "I will see to the shipwide broadcast. As for the Commodore, I'll let you breach that subject with her and will arrive when summoned to explain my convictions." She let go of his arm and dropped her hand. "With your permission I shall depart?" She gave a mirthful, askance face.

" Dont be a stranger Chief. I'll speak to the Commodore about our apprehension." Jay replied.

She spun and went towards the exit, smiling over her shoulder. "Does that mean we're 'apprehended'?" She giggled as she cleared the archway into the corridor. "Don't answer that," was said as the door closed behind her, leaving the commander in his office. She liked him already.

Jay chuckled as he loved tough chicks and this one had moxy.
