Mission: Mission Guardian Shield
Location: Aetrernae Federation Embassy
Timeline: Current

Shuttles and runabouts streaked down from the heavens in steep descents, shields giving off brief flares from the heat of their descent. At the last moment they pulled up coming to rest on the grounds on the Federation embassy as Marines in combat gear bailed out already making for predetermined points as the transport craft lifted clear making room for follow on waves.

Stepping out of the lead runabout Greg exited at a jog making his way to a garden he had already picked out to set up his command post at. "When the last shuttle leaves I want fighting positions being dug. The wall isn't worth holding it'll keep people out but it's too large a perimeter to try and hold with our manpower. Set up observation points and a light screen, but I want two complete defense lines dug primary and a fallback line," he said speaking his platoon commanders as they approached. "Sharpshooters go into the embassy, want them at the highest point, for overwatch and eyes on the surrounding area."

"Yes, sir," the response came back with a nod as they started to give orders over their own command nets.

"Last meeting with all of us in the same area, from this moment on we treat Aeternae like a combat zone I don't want my senior officers taken out by the same shell, or grenade," Greg added looking around and meeting their eyes, "Assume these people know what they're doing until we have hard evidence that they don't. I don't want to loose Marines because they get it in their heads the opposition doesn't have a clue and that they're supermen."

"We'll make sure they understand," he acting XO replied with another nod.

"Well then gentleman, good luck and see you all aboard the Amandora," Greg added before watching the last runabout take off leaving a small group of Starfleet officers in the grey of Intelligence behind. Dismissing his platoon leaders he waved over the Intelligence section, "You where the last runabout down, combat engineers are getting transport enhancers set up and we're going to start digging in around the area."

Alister looked around as Marines started to carry out orders some keeping watch as others started to furiously go to town with digging fighting emplacements, "We'll keep out of your hair, I need to go into the embassy see the acting station chief and make sure the staff stay out of your way. The medical team and security tactical officers are on standby if you want them, final choice will be left up to you."

Greg nodded his head, "Once I have some defenses up and manned I'll bring down the medical team. Not much call for them at the moment and I would like to free some hands up to help them at least get set up. Good luck with your mission."

Alister gave a nod of his head and held out his hand to the Marine, "Same to you."

Greg shook the offered hand and then turned back to the PADD one of his Marines was holding demanding his attention.

Alister turned squaring his shoulders as he headed into the embassy, his operations team at his back. He glanced around before catching the sight of red hair as Katie made her way to him, "I'm so glad you've arrived."

Alister smiled giving the other officer a brief hug, "I told you I would make it. Did you get that info I asked for?"

Katie nodded her head, "Got it all and it's waiting for you, haven't picked anything out of it myself," she shrugged her shoulders, "Granted field work isn't my cup of tea give me a code to break."

Alister chuckled lightly, "Don't worry if there's a starting point we'll find it and when we do, I hope it's enough to bring this Civil War to a quick close. The last thing we need is a long drawn out conflict distracting us from keeping an eye on the neighbors."

Katie motioned with her arm, "Right this way I'll take you to the conference room."
