Heather and James sat down to flapjacks, syrup, crispy bacon, and some extra strong coffee for breakfast. It had been a couple of days since that really nice Beach Party and the couple were faced with getting back into the old routine once again.

Now that breakfast was almost over, except for another cup of coffee each, Heather asked "So what's on your agenda for today?"

James swallowed his mouth full of coffee before answering "I'll be on the Bridge this morning at the Science Stations since it's my turn at the rotation. Then this afternoon I'm going to check the Labs on Decks 12, 15, and 31; just the usual routine visit. So what's your day look like?"

"Well since there really isn't much of any research to do, I thought I'd take the opportunity to re-calibrate the Molecular Microscopes; it's been awhile and they need to be done" Heather replied.

James smiled "Now that sounds about as much fun as starring at some Screens for four hours" he said with a chuckle.

"Actually I think you have me beat. Doing the Microscopes really isn't all that bad, although it can be rather time consuming" she replied.

James finished his coffee "I guess I better get the show on the road" he commented then stood and walked over to Heather " I'll see you later" as he bent down to give Heather a kiss "Love you." then he turned and left to go to the Bridge.

"Love you too" she replied as she watched James leave. Heather had a few minutes before she had to go and cleaned up from breakfast so she wouldn't have to do it later.

{Bridge}

James exited the Lift and went over to the Science Stations to relieve the Ensign on duty. After going over some things the Ensign left and James got to work.

He did his usual scans of the area around and in front of the Ship looking for anything that may cause a problem....everything looked fine. Then he ran a Parametric Scan looking for any Romulan Ships that may be near by; but the Scan came up empty...which was not a bad thing.

After a couple of hours of alternating between Spacial and Parametric Scans, James noticed something on his Screen for a moment then it was gone. "That's odd" he thought to himself, so he did a quick diagnostic of the systems...everything checked out fine. So he dismissed it as a possible 'ghost' on the Screen.

Shortly before his shift was over, the 'ghost' showed up again. Only this time it stayed on the Screen for a few minutes. James quickly made some adjustments to the Parametric Scan. He couldn't be sure if it was Romulan or not, but it was staying put for the time being and it appeared to be a long ways off.

James didn't want to cause any undo alarm but figured he should let Command know. He informed the Lieutenant who was in command of the Bridge, at the moment, of his findings. When his relief showed up James informed the Lieutenant J.G. of his findings and instructed her to keep a close eye on the object and report any changes right away to Command. Now it was onto the Science Labs for a routine visit.
