Post Number 32 An Interesting Conversation

Where is everyone? Sean are you okay?

ON:

Tara after a long hot day in an underground mine and chats with several of the women they left the mine. The sun was high over head and the heat had become stifling, the breeze didn’t bring any relief to the heat. Tara had made a couple of friends and once free of the mine headed with her two new friends to a small spot of shade. Taking seats on the ground Tara gratefully took a cup of water and downed it quickly.

“I wish there was some way we could get off this rock and away from the Jem Hadar,” One of the women said

“As do I, they’re tyrants and only want us to work until we’re dead on or feet, then they expect us to pleasure them and cook for them. It’s to the point I hate the end of the day as we all know what’s next,” The second woman said “They’re brutal and they don’t care about our feelings. All they want is our bodies.”

“What happens if you refuse them?” Tara asked shocked at what she’d just learned

“That’s not an option,” The first woman said. “We either pleasure them or they beat us.”

“And if we cook something they don’t like we get beat worse. Either way it’s a no win scenario for us,” the second woman said “I wish we had someplace to go, someplace where no one has ever heard of the Jem Hadar.”

“But there’s no way off this rock so we’re stuck doing what they demand of us,” the first woman said “We don’t know who you are but we do know you’re a stranger to our village and they’ve been watching you. I’m sure one of them is going to want you.”
Tara looked back toward the village and away two Jem Hadar were looking their way “I have an idea, they need to go to sleep and I might be able to pull that off.” Spotting a cacti not far away Tara got to her feet, walked over to it and after carefully scanning it as not to be seen sliced off a chunk and returned to where the women were “Get me some more water please,”

“What are you going to do?” the first woman asked

“Put them to sleep for a while and give everyone a break from them,” Tara replied accepting the picture of the water and squeezing the juice from the cacti into it. “Give them some of this and it will put them to sleep for a few hours.”

“Thank you, but what is in this?” the second woman asked

“Just the juice from that cacti, when you combine it with water it makes you sleepy,” Tara said getting to her feet. “So don’t any of your people drink it. I’m going for a walk, remember what I told you.”

With that she headed away from the village and back to the small cave where her makeshift lab was. Seeing James Tara smiled “You’re a sight for sore eyes. I had a long talk with two of the women and learned some interesting things. What have you found out?”
